𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡 || 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐱 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫

Sad, Sad Demon

"Natagumo Mountain...This is it...Right?" You say, patting the few sparks that were left of your clothing and patter down your raised hair.

You looked around to the big, overgrown trees to be greeted with handing bodies of dead young ones. They almost looked like young demon slayers all apart of the same group, hint the same similar clothing they all wore. Beneath your feet was a young boy who had a sword jabbed into his spine. You bent down to feel any pulse that may have stayed with him.

*POKE*

Before you could reach for his pulse, a silk string released from behind his neck.

"Were you acquainted with any of these demon slayers?" A familiar voice echoed from behind as you slightly perked your head up.

"I thought you two weren't supposed to arrive until later..." You say with an annoyed tone, standing to your feet.

"What's wrong young Hinoto? Think you could handle this one all by yourself?" Shinobu said, walking up beside you.

"There aren't any survivors, so don't bother checking for any pulses, some look like their spine was snapped or neck," You say, shrugging off Shinobu's comment.

"We left right after you, the mission was called more urgent than just any other attack so we decided to follow..." Giyu said, looking around with the same expression.

"You never know if there are other survivors further, so don't say all of them are goners," Shinobu says, smiling towards you.

"We were informed that several of the newer Mizunoto had joined the battle to combat these demons, but..." Shinobu says, looking around as you brush her hand off and walk towards the man-made path up the mountain.

"They're all dead at this point..." You say under your breath as Giyu looks at you.

"We should go, Shinobu..." He says as you try to shimmy away from them as quickly and as subtly as you can.

"Isn't the moon lovely? Just look how full and how much light it casts down!" Shinobu says, running with the two of you.

"Well, since we've all been given this joint mission, let's all try to get along, hm? Maybe...Listen to our superiors?" Shinobu says as you roll your eyes.

"Hey...Keep rolling those eyes and they'll get stuck," Shinobu says as Giyu hits her side.

"My only concern at this point is getting to slay demons and getting home to eat," You say as a faint hearing of muffled grunts of pain came from the left of you, over a river.

"Ah, coldhearted as usual...And it seems like you've heard something in the distance, no? This seems like a good place to spit up anyway, what do you guys say? I shall proceed from the west," Shinobu says you, and Giyu nods.

"Very well," Giyu responds as Shinobu giggles before leaping up into the trees.

"I'll head east, opposite of Shinobu, that leaves you to go where ever you please, sound good? I heard muffles from there anyway," You say as Giyu looks at you and sighs.

"I'll take that as a sure!" You say as you lead away from him, towards the sound of water traveling south.

"Give me the worst you've got dirtbag!!" You heard a growl from below you as you watched from a tree above.
