*CHIRP CHIRP*
The quiet but loud chirping of the birds disrupted your slumber. You furrowed your brows and peeked open your eyes. You closed your eyes again, it was still dark out.
*CHIRP CHIRP*
'God damn it...'
You thought as your agitation grew. You managed to sit up in bed and dangle your feet off the side of the bed. You looked over to the cracked mirror and noticed that your hair was tangled and a mess.
*KNOCK KNOCK*
As your feet landed on the cold, wooden floor of the infirmary, you heard two distinct knocks.
"(Y/n)..?" You heard the all too familiar monotone voice.
You rolled your eyes and stood up, making your way to a table with a brush.
*KNOCK KNOCK*
"...Haganezuka forged your blade...I just thought you'd want to know, it's by your door," Giyu sighs knowing well you wouldn't respond.
Meanwhile, you wrapped your face in bandages. You looked underneath the sliding door and you could still see his shadow.
"No...You won't get your blade until you come out..." He says as that made your brow lift.
'Excuse me..?'
You saw his shadow move away from the doorway.
*WOOSH*
Without a thought, you shoved the door to a side. You saw him off to the side of the door with the same cold look. You held your hand out as you noticed he had your Nichirin in his hands with a cover over it.
"I've seen you worse..." He says coldly as you sigh and snatch your blade.
"You know, when you do speak, you always have a way with words," You say to him as you retreat back into your isolated infirmary.
Even if was just a sentence, it was the first sentence you have said since the Mugen Train. Giyu's eyes slightly widened at your words, and as you were about the shut the door, Giyu's hand stopped the door.
He pushed his way through the sliding door. Your head whipped around as he stood there with his eyebrows very slightly furrowed.
"I didn't know I wasn't allowed privacy-" You begin to say as he steps closer to you.
"You are...But you aren't allowed to keep yourself boxed in here for forever," He says as you stood there a bit speechless.
You knew and understood Giyu's coldness but then there was that side of him that cared deeply for the ones close to him.
You sighed and sat down on your bed. Giyu followed and sat next to you with a respectful amount of room. There was a very awkward moment of silence. Giyu couldn't help but compare the feeling you were feeling to his feelings when he lost someone very close to him.
~FLASHBACK~
(first person)
*KNOCK KNOCK*
It was a very late night. Eerily quiet. It was the night after the Final Selection.
*KNOCK KNOCK*
"Giyu..?" I knocked lightly on the door as I held a tray of food.
There was no response. I hadn't seen him since entering and I knew he was alive. In fact, everyone survived.
