The wind howled into my ears, the sound deafening. My legs screamed at me to stop, but my mind just pushed them to run harder. The rocky terrain made my sprint falter, but I didn't allow it to affect me too much. My group ran in front of me, the storm hiding some of them from my sight. The rain hit my face over and over, my eyes squinted and blinded. My thick, copper, watch bounced on my neck, most likely leaving a bruise.

Suddenly, a green and purple portal appeared in the storm. Its bright colors illuminated the terrain, allowing me to see my team.

It's Avas portal!

I pushed my legs to run faster than they ever had before, slowly covering the ground from the time portal and me. One by one I saw my group jump through the portal, faces illuminated for a few seconds before disappearing.

Ava. jack. Claire. Yun. sarah.

My mind automatically named each of them until I was the only one not in the portal. My legs buckled under me, causing a gasp to rip through my parched throat. The ache in my legs was suddenly overpowered by the stinging sensation that made its way up my left leg.

No no no no! Not right now!

Barring my teeth, I looked down to see a gash in my leg. Red liquid was already coating the ground, some of it being picked up and thrown into my face by the storm. Eyes filled with tears, I lifted myself with a painful yell. Looking back at the portal, I could tell that it was slowly closing.

Only a little farther, just go!

Stumbling and limping, I slowly made my way over to the closing portal, the light almost blinding my eyes the closer I got.

My cracked clock spun as it got closer to a portal like its own, causing me to smile as I realized I only had a little further to go.

A ding rang out, letting me know I only had a few seconds to get back to my time.

My short, black, hair blew in the intense wind, causing me to automatically go and fix it. The falter in my sprint slowed me down by a few seconds, I pushed and pushed to go faster. My limp didn't help, instead causing more pain to fly through my body.

A second ding rang out, a reminder of how much time I had left

My mind ticked off the seconds as I pushed myself to the limit.

My legs used the last of their power to jump, hoping to fit into the small hole that was a portal.

No!

The portal shut as my hands touched it, leaving me to fly into the ground, head hitting a red rock.

Ringing filled my ears, my head pounding.

So tired.....
