10: Her
"He said what?," Rory exclaimed. She turned towards the tv in her living room to pause the current show playing, giving her friend her full attention.
"Yeah. I don't know where it came from, he was fine when we went to bed. Just woke up in a shitty mood, I guess," Stevie replied while picking at her cuticles.
"Weird," Caro chipped in, "have you talked to him about it?"
"No, we really haven't talked much these past couple of days. He's being a bit distanced," Stevie replied. It was quiet for a few seconds before Stevie's phone went off. 'Maybe it's him' she thought to herself.
"Is it Ollie," Rory asked, peeking over the girl's shoulder.
"No, it's August," she replied a little curiously, "he wants to meet up with us at some time to hangout." Both of her friends looked at her waiting to see what she would reply.
When she didn't reply, caro spoke up, "I mean, Henry's coming over in about 20 minutes. You could invite him over, I'd love to meet the mysterious August Reid." After quickly contemplating and getting a nod from Rory, she sent a text an invite and address to the boy
Within a few moments, the three girls heard a lock at the door. Rory paused the current debate over what color was the best fall color, orange or plum (orange being the correct answer), and answered the door. The two other girls looked over the back of the couch, trying to get a glimpse of the boy before they could be caught. They turned quickly as the tall man walked in awkwardly, throwing a short and sweet wave towards Stevie.
Both of the girls gave a chorus of 'hi's before Caro took the opportunity to introduce herself. "Hi! I'm Carolin, the third member of the three musketeers. My friends all call me Caro though, you're more than welcome to call me that too unless you have another name in mind," the ginger flirted, scooting closer to say the last part more seductively.
August awkwardly laughed, "Caro, that's a really neat name. I'm August, but I tend to go by Auggie. Hey Stevie," he called, walking around the pretty ginger, "how's the sewing coming along?"
She smiled sweetly at the boy, "coming along very well. Only having minor issues so far, so let's hope that it doesn't get any worse than that."
The four sat and talked for another 15 minutes until they heard a bang come from the door. Shortly after, Henry came in with red cheeks. "Did you guys hear that? Some loser ran into the wall out there," he said bashfully. The group knew too well that the 'loser' Henry was referring to was actually himself.
"It's my turn to pick so we're ordering in Thai and watching the Maze Runner's," Henry said as he took out his laptop to get the order ready.
"Runner's," Rory replied putting emphasis on the 's', "Hen, it's runner, no s."
"Oh yeah, I know that! I meant that we're gonna watch all three because Mr. Dylan O'Brien can ruin my whole life," Henry replied with a smug smile.
When the food finally arrived, the three sat and began their surprise marathon. Auggie sat in between Stevie and Rory and the other two snuggled on the love seat. As time went on, Stevie shifted to lean against August and close her eyes. She too loved looking at the way Dylan O'Brien's body moved as he ran and fought against WCKD, but that power just wasn't enough to keep her up past her normal bed time.

Yet again, Stevie was sewing her heart away. As if the universe had it out for her, the project took a turn for the worse. Earlier in the week, Oliver came to give her some company, but he failed to mention the few drinks he had with his buddies before showing up. It was fine to begin with, until he spilled his strawberry Fanta all over the top. The top that was previously finished.
