Nekomata's are quite rare finds.

To create a nekomata a cat had to either live up to a certain age or they would would be given birth too.

The reason why they were rare was because most of the time cats do not live that long and even if they did, they would've taken a long time for them to adjust with their surroundings.

The nekomatas given birth to were rarer since they were a combination of the feline beast-kin and the spirits.

Which was unlikely since beast-kins actually think that spirits don't exist...that is until one day.

"Aaaaaaugh"

A man gasping out as he tumbled past a line of bushes. The man clutched his teeth and started to run again.

He was shot in his shoulder. He didn't have time to lose, if he faltered ever so slightly his life would be over.

"Damn... BASTARDS!" he let out trying to calm himself down from the pain by screaming.

Hours prior the man had attended a clan meeting to arrange peace between the 2 clans only to be betrayed and got shot in the shoulder, only barely making it out of there.

As he ran he felt his legs gave out and then tripped. He was done for, he thought. They would catch up to him and bring his head back as a trophy.

His eyes tearing up he held his hands to his face and sobbed. It was over, he was a goner.

"Sorry to interrupt your...a moment...there but ah you look like you need some help?"

Shocked by the voice he steadily pushed and got onto his knees witnessing the beauty before him.

It was a water spirit, her pale complexion, sparkling blue eyes and her hair floated as if she was under water herself.

Confused, since he never seen such a creature before, he started to steadily back away.

"Hey! Wait! I didn't mean to scare you. I just thought you could've used some help."

"Stay back! I don't know what you are but I- I- I'll-"

The spirit then waved her hand and droplets of water began appearing before the man's eyes. As he grew sleepy all he heard was one line.

"Don't worry I'll protect you-"

Falling into the darkness he swore he saw her say something else but couldn't hear a thing. First he felt fear then panic and then nothing. Drowning in the abyss of his mind.

As he gradually opens his eyes, he was shocked to see that there was a thin water sphere around him.

All he could see was a small pond and a few trees inside.

"Oh you're finally awake!"

Making a noise that no man has made before as he jumped out of his skin to look back at the voice.

There was a lady slim, long wavy hair and he couldn't put a finger around it but it was like the aura surrounding her was tinted blue.

"You must be scared huh? No need to fear because Celeste is here."

The man utterly confused of what was going immediately recalled the past events of what happened. Only to find that his shoulder was unharmed, no blood and as if by magic the arrow disappeared.

"You know for someone who is trying to talk to you, you should really try to talk back."

She got closer and sat beside the man sitting with her knees to her face.
