Chapter 6 / Preparations

The day was a great day, everything was peaceful within this sanctuary of a neighbourhood. Everyone greeting eachother while getting their daily papers. Even some chatting on this wonderful day.

The neighbourhood was huge and east of it lied the place where everyone had gone to once. Azure academy. Although the building itself wasn't in sight. Just thinking about it riled up the young souls entering.

All new gens had to attend the academy once they got their artifacts. They will be put into classes within their age groups. Clubs and packs were held for a more comfortable environment.

The purpose of this academy was simple. Maintaining peace. All old gens that agreed to participate for the global peace treaty had rules to follow. But the new gens that were born within the sanctuary had no such rules.

Thus turning it into a grand social experiment for peace among all races. Nobody knew who orchestrated the event but it happened nonetheless.

The west neighbourhood was where it was sunny all year round. Perfect for a summer get away. The east was rainy all year round, however there were never any storms. Perfect for the oceanic lives that lives there. The north was winter no matter what, only those resistant to cold liked it there. And finally the south where it was dim and gloomy. Most of the undead were living there.

Everyone had choices to pick where they wanted to live and some stick to stereotypical traits while others were free to do whatever.

Xin was in the west along with Ash. Together they would head east to the dome in the centre of it all. No houses or people were allowed to go near since it was heavily guarded by golems.

Azure academy was actually underground but a lot of people who retired from there said it was like they were in another world. Where there should be a ceiling was the sky. Where there should be no air it was brimming with wind. An odd place indeed.

[Xin's Pov]

It was finally time, time to head out on our own adventure. After revising some of my spells I was finally ready to enter the academy. Usually I would've gone when I was 12 but both me and Ash wanted to go together.

And since we were...mates...there was no choice. He wanted me and I wanted him. All races have different ways of loving their mate. The beast-kins have to go through a 3 level mate thing, which increases by age.

The only reason why I didn't know Ash was my mate must be because we've been with eachother a lot. But since Alex was now in the picture it was now confirmed.

I never heard of people of the same gender being mates, but for me this was a bit awkward. Usually you had the usual dominant and the submissive but neither me or Ash had any relations to those. Another reason why I didn't think we were mates. I felt neutral about it and so did Ash. So we decided on just staying together and hope for the best.

Usually the submissives were the ones to give birth but neither me or Ash had those organs. I knew that I didn't have it because the doctor told me when I was young I couldn't give birth. Ash told me the same thing. It was quite worry some and a bit saddening but we will make it through.

I heard a knock on the door and just realised that I was still in bed with the blankets over me. Damn I was thinking for too long I need to get going.

I quickly stood up from the bed and opened the door. Surprisingly it wasn't my mom with an angry look since I was late but rather him. My lil puppy.
