Jack's P.O.V.

Everyone is looking for Ava today. Including the girl's and Corbyn even if he doesn't like it. I'm up first. Usually Jonah's up first but I set my alarm extra early to get started on today. After a couple hours the other's get up and by that time I had ordered take out breakfast and packed everyone's bags for a whole day of searching. In fact, as they ate I left after telling them I'm going on my search for Ava. I went to the river where her scent was still faint. Then started from there. I remember the night Ava was kidnapped by Jacob and she saw me as a wolf here at this river. Where would she go. I don't think she would cross the river because it's super deep. So she didn't cross. She didn't turn around. What if she followed the river? Why didn't i think of that later. It makes sense. She was missing a duffle bag in her room. I know what she did. She got in the river so we couldn't track her. Man, beautiful and smart. I follow the river and make it to this circle tree thing. I walk in the middle of it til I get scent of something that put me on high alert. Vampires. I look around but don't see anything. I quickly turn to my wolf and run back to the house. The other's should still be there since they take forever to finish a meal. I run til I see the house coming into view. I was about to open the door when I see a note stuck to the door itself. It's titled: To The Mates. I quickly grab and bring it in. Everyone like I guessed had not finished and I opened the letter to have the other stare at me weird with some letter not knowing what it is. I read the letter and my legs want to give way. I sit down on the couch in the living room as everyone's trying to figure out what I'm doing. At this time I'm guessing Jonah's reading my mind so I let him. I reread the letter just to make sure I'm not dreaming. These kidnappers who I don't even know who they are took my mate. I look in the envelope just to make sure nothing else was in there but there was. It was a bracelet with Ava's scent on it. I let the letter fall to the ground and held the bracelet close to me. Jonah picked up the letter after seeing it fall and read it allowed.

Dear Mates, you may not know us but we know you. You have simple instructions to follow if you want your precious mate back. Yes, I mean Ava Andress. Get Jacob Black into your possession and wait for further instructions. Also don't mess up because your mate hasn't been marked yet and we would love to mark her in your place. We're watching you.

I could smell the scent of vampires. But I didn't care about them. I cared about Ava. The room was silent as I held the bracelet.
