"I will," Parker said. He flashed a Cheshire-like grin at us and said, "don't worry, I can drive."

Before anyone could interject, a black van pulled up beside ours. Legolas stepped in front of me in a protective stance.

The passenger and driver doors opened and Emeline and Catherine stepped out. The back doors opened and Serena, Val, Shannon, Kris, Mel, Edward, Josh and Blake filed out.

"How many people fit in your car?" Samzin exclaimed.

"It pays to pay," Emeline said smugly. She patted the hood of the car and added, "although we have no more room due to all of the supplies we brought as well."

"How, why, what..." Legolas spluttered. "Why are you here?"

Christian tried to remove himself from Legolas' sight but the moment he shifted, Legolas noticed.

"Chrissy, seriously? You couldn't keep your mouth shut?" I snapped. "This was a secret mission!"

"We're all in this together," Catherine said lamely. She was immediately shut up by everyone's heads turning to face hers. "Well, you're not going on without us."

"Says who?" Legolas asked testily. He placed his hands on his hips and looked defiantly at the people who had just arrived.

"Says us," Edward replied. He stepped forward and was standing nose to nose with Legolas. "We're. Helping. You."

Sighing, Legolas conceded but with ill grace. After a moments thought, he asked, "what did you bring with you?"

"Sleeping bags, first aid kits, canned soup, toilet paper, maps, money, flashlights, candles, knives, flare guns, and string," Serena said automatically. "Oh, and candy too."

"Candy is always good," Parker said sarcastically. "When can we leave?"

"I need to go grab some more canned food from the house," I announced. I started towards the house when I heard him.

"I'll go with her," Legolas called over his shoulder as he hurried to catch up with me. He matched my stride and grinned at me.

"What do you think they're getting?" Liv asked as she watched their retreating backs. She turned around to see Riley smirking.

"I think it's pretty obvious," she replied. She chuckled a bit. "They're going to get food of course."

"Yeah right," Christian muttered dismissively.

I opened the door to the house and skipped into the kitchen. I grabbed a bag and started to fill it with canned goods. After a moments contemplation I went into the pantry to grab some boxes of cereal. I heard footsteps behind me and I turned around in the cramped space to see Legolas.

"Can I do anything to help?" He asked politely.

"No I'm good," I replied. I was suddenly conscious of how close we were. "Promise we won't get hurt," I whispered, my voice cracking slightly.

Legolas pulled me against his strong chest and murmured into my hair, "I promise."
I returned his embrace and we just stood there for a moment. I could feel his heartbeat- steady and strong- and wondered if he could feel mine too. My heartbeat quickened and it felt like it was trying to burst forth from my ribcage.

I felt Legolas' lift his head from mine and his hand gently grasped my chin. He tilted my head up and said, "I will make sure no harm comes to you specifically." A smile tugged at his lips and I felt a strange yearning deep inside.

His head tipped down and I could feel his cool breath wash over my face. His hand brought my face closer to his and I tilted my head up, eyes closed.

"They've been in there for a while," Catherine commented. The group of people was now standing awkwardly around the cars.

"I'll go check," Parker offered, rolling his eyes. He jogged up to the house and yanked open the front door.

Stepping inside, he heard sighs coming from the kitchen area. Treading lightly into the kitchen, Parker paused slightly before locating the sounds which were coming from the closet.

Shaking his head, he grasped the handle of the door and opened it.

Katherine had her hands tangled in Legolas' blonde hair and his hands cupped her face gently as they kissed.

Legolas' hands were gently cupping my face and his thumb made stroking motions across my cheekbones.

His fair felt silky under my fingertips and I stroke it absentmindedly. I opened my eyes briefly and I was surprised at how close Legolas' face was to mine. His eyes were open too and they shone with love and a promise.

"Ahem," a voice said from the doorway. Legolas and I jumped apart which was a feat because of the lack of room.

"We should go," Legolas said hastily. With that, he walked briskly away from the pantry, pausing only to grab the bag full of food.

Parker raised his eyebrow at me and I had no words to defend myself.

Once we got outside, everyone in the group started to giggle.

"And you two say you're not together," Christian said while smiling suggestively at Legolas.
