Winter break

Molly POV

It feels good to have the season finished but I can't lie I had only just got back into the swing of things! I only worked the final few races and they all went past in a blur! Between races we were kept busy by seeing our families who demanded to see my ring in person, no one was surprised by Lando's proposal and everyone offered their congratulations. It feels surreal to call him my fiancé. We have been through so much together over the past months and years and this feels right.

"Lands! Come on we are going to be late" I practically scream upstairs "I'm coming!" He shouts back in response. I sling my backpack over my shoulder as he finally descends the stairs "Hey bub, let's go" he swings the front door open unlocking my Audi before throwing his suitcase in the backseat. We are on our way to the airport, not that we haven't had enough of flying over the last few months. Destination Prague, we are having a few days away exploring together and just enjoying each other's company before coming back home for Christmas. "Have you got everything?" Lando asks from the drivers seat "I believe so but anything crucially important we can pick up" he nods "right then let's go on an adventure!" He excitedly says as he pops the car into reverse before pulling out of the driveway.

The airport has become familiar but I still feel anxious from the moment I step foot inside. We are currently looking at bobble hats in duty free because Lando doesn't agree that he has enough already. "What about this one?" He taps my shoulder and I turn my head to be faced with the most ridiculous looking Union Jack hat I've ever seen "oh baby, I know you can usually pull off anything but this is a bit much" he grins "do I look handsome though?" I nod my head and give him a peck on the lips "however I might be biased as I always think you look good" he smirks "I know you do!" I places the hat back on the rail before walking to the till to pay for the plain back beanie hat he picked up first.

I squeeze Lando's hand as the plane starts to climb into the air. The feeling of being pushed into my seat makes my stomach churn and I screw my eyes shut. I feel fingers tracing down my arm lightly and I instantly relax "how did you do that?" I ask Lando who has noticed my much more relaxed posture "just thought it might work" he says sending my a soft smile and he continues to trace my arm till the plane levels out. I feel ridiculously grateful that I have him in my life "I love you" I say lowly "not as much as I do you" he responds, this has been his new thing since the proposal. He always tells me that it's impossible for me to love him as much as he loves me.

Lando

I can feel my heart race as we enter the city, I still feel on edge whenever we go anywhere. I have nearly lost her too many times. I gaze over to see her mesmerised by the view out of the window "It's beautiful" I comment "it's incredible, look at all the history" she turns her head to give me a smile and I feel all my fears wash away. The driver stops outside of our hotel and I thank him before grabbing our luggage out of the boot. "We're here!" Mols cheers as she looks over at the hotel "we are! Let's get checked in" I grab her hand leading her into the lobby.

"Charles bridge first please!" Mols tells me giddily rushing through the streets of Prague. "What about breakfast?" I ask feeling my stomach churn "you Mr Norris are always obsessed with food" she scolds me "but we can get breakfast" she grins at me.

Molly

I've wanted to visit Prague since I was small and Lando has always known this! I couldn't believe it when he told me we were going! I know he isn't a fan of travelling during the break as that's pretty much all we do for the whole season. He told me on the flight home from Abu Dhabi and two weeks later here we are! We wander into a cute cafe and take a seat for breakfast "what are you gonna get?" I ask Lando "pancakes! I'm off plan til after Christmas" he grins "I think I'm gonna get the poached eggs" I tell him "you always get them as you can't poach and egg for shit" I roll my eyes "and you can't even toast burger buns without burning the shit out of them" he laughs "fair play" once we ordered he looks serious for a second "Mols?" I look up from my cup of coffee "Lands?" He takes a second before replying "thank you" I'm confused "for what?" I now get treated to his signature grin "for being here, for fighting, for choosing me" my heart softens "oh Lands, there is no one in the world I would rather be with" he squeezes me hand just as the waiter drops off our breakfast.

"It's as beautiful as I pictured" I tell Lando as I look out over the river from Charles Bridge "im glad!" He tells me placing his arm on my waist as we take in the scenic views. I will admit though that it is completely freezing and I can see that Lando isn't impressed with the weather "chilly?" I question and he nods "it's not exactly Abu Dhabi!" I giggle "I adore winter unlike you" he rolls his eyes "come on then let's get some photo evidence that you got to come here!" He tells me and I pose for a photo.

Wednesday

It's time for our flight home and I'm reluctant to leave "I don't want to go home" he smiles at me "I know Mols but it's christmas next week and we need to decorate the house" I know he has told me this as I adore decorating the tree "okay then we can go" I agree and he laughs as we walk through the airport towards our gate.

I decide to post about our trip whilst we wait to board

Friday

I haven't stopped for a few days, buying and wrapping presents. I don't think I've ever been as excited about Christmas as I am this year! We didn't spend Christmas together last year and I missed him terribly! "Mols! It's time to decorate the tree" Lando shouts from downstairs "coming!" I jump off of the spare bed where I have been sat wrapping everyone's presents. I step into the lounge to the sound of Elton John my absolute favourite Christmas song and Lando stood holding the decoration with my Dads name on "I fought with the lights but I thought this should be the first decoration on the tree!" It doesn't take long for tears to roll down my face "oh Lando" he passes me the decoration before pulling me into his arms "he would be so proud of you, for everything you have overcome" I couldn't stop the sobs from taking over and it turns out Lando had another surprise "Hey Squirt" George? I spin on my heel to see my best friend in the kitchen doorway "I didn't come to see you cry!" I rush over and he wraps his arms around my shoulders "you both surprising me! Thank you" I look at Lando who has a smile on his face.
