Finally we are back at the track, it feels like it's been forever, especially as I missed half of last season. I'm currently stood looking down the pitlane from the opposite end, I couldn't be more proud of George and how far he has come. He deserved to be in a top team much sooner "it's impressive right?" I turn to see Liam and Josh next to me "it always feels like coming home, I practically grew up in the McLaren garage with my dad" he grins "I bet he is well chuffed you are with Mercedes now" I nod "I'm sure he would be" Josh's face falls "shit, I'm sorry" I immediately shake my head "you didn't know, it's not your fault!" I tell him resting my hand on his arm. I suddenly hear my voice being shouted and I spot Lando's arm waving from the McLaren garage "I will be back in a sec" I tell Josh before heading straight for my curly boy.

I dodge past the Red Bull garage, waving at Max who sends me a huge smile as I pass his side quickly, eager to reach Lando. I'm pulled straight into his embrace "I've missed you" he mutters into my hair "I've missed you" I tell him. We've been apart for a week due to the build up for this and I've been staying a George's and flew out with Mercedes this morning whereas Lando was here yesterday. Being back in his arms reassures me that we are going to be okay. "Lunch?" He asks as Will calls out to him and I nod my head shouting a hello to Will and Jon before making my way back to Mercedes. It felt really strange not going home to Lando and I haven't been sleeping well. George ended up staying in with me to see if it helped but I still struggle, slightly less though with him there!

"Ready for your first ever Mercedes session?" Liam asks stood beside me "I am, the main reason I work in F1 is because I adore cars" I say looking on at George climbing into the car, he sends me a quick thumbs up and I send him a smile. "You two seem close?" Liam says as I cross my arms waiting for George to leave the garage "he is my best friend, Lando used to have that position" he frowns "fall out?" I shake my head "got engaged!" I show him my ring that glistens under the harsh lighting in the garage "oh I see" he sounds dejected "how long?" He asks and I grin "he asked me on the starting grid in Mexico" his eyebrows raise "that's not overly romantic" he comments "well it's perfect for me" I say back and we settle into silence as the W12 is fired up.

"That was amazing" George comments jumping out of the car "it sounded pretty impressive!" I give him a squeeze and notice he is sweaty "ewwww George!" He shakes his head "you should've known" he tells me jokingly "right Mr, time to go face the media pen" I say and he shrugs "they are going to be more interested in me now!" I nod and we walk out of the garage. The paddock is busy as we weave past people, I'm aware of the time constraints today. I see Charles ahead walking toward us and I smile. He spots us and heads over "Hi guys" he says and I decide to give him a hug "hey Lechair" he rolls his eyes "how is it at Mercedes?" I grin "amazing! George is enjoying the car" I gesture to the boy stood next to me "yeah, it's definitely not a Williams" he jokes to Charles "I'm sure! Pizza tonight?" He asks and I nod "I will check with Lando at lunch" he nods looking down at my ring finger with a sad expression which I'm not quite prepared for! I think quickly and tell him "we really need to get a move on, see you later" I tell him kissing his cheek.

George scoffs as we walk away "how does he still love you?" I look up at him "what?" He starts laughing at me "it's so obvious! He didn't choose you but he wishes he did" I roll my eyes "I think you are looking too much into it! Plus I'm with Lando and I couldn't be happier" he nods "I know you are, that doesn't mean Charles doesn't have his own feelings though" we arrive in the media pen and I head straight over to Rachel Brooks at sky sports "right, time to shine George, positive words" he nods and I know he won't say anything incriminating. I hold out my dictaphone and turn my gaze to the other people in the pen, I see Checo having an interview and Carlos who is just finishing up "Mols! Good to see you" he tells me walking over "Carlos! Long time" he grins and gives me a brief hug "how's Lando?" I smile "good as far as I know" I tell him "he mentioned you are staying with George? I was worried you guys had broken up" he eyes me with some concern, I shake my head "just closer to work! It's been difficult but we are back together now" I assure Carlos "he really loves you" I nod "as much as I love him" he grins and Sylvia pulls him away with a wave "see you later!" I shout "definitely!" I turn my attention back to George who is just finishing up.
