Note: I typically HATE changing the story's point of view mid way through the story. However, this change is just temporary and is for the best. Someone recommended I do this...so...ye.

They first appeared over a hundred years ago. Giant, Humanoid creatures with the taste for our blood. The brute strength of these apparitions trumped an average person’s many times over. We were shoved to the brink of extinction almost overnight. The survivors erected walls Maria, Rose, and Sina. Withdrawing behind them in frightened huddles for what was to be a century of uneasy peace.

In the year 845, two terrifying new breeds of titan appeared. The Colossal and the Female. Barreling through the outer walls as if wholesale destruction was child’s play. The territory couched within the circle of wall Maria was abandoned. Twenty percent of the human race perished. As the titan onslaught advanced, our only choice was to withdraw behind wall Rose.

STORY VIEW CHANGE - Third Person

Mikasa zooms past the buildings on her ODM gear.

A titan rushes towards the still yet to be evacuated people.

Fay rushes in after Mikasa

“Looks like an Abnormal, I’m sure you’ve got it.” Fay says

“Yeah! I’ll take it out!” Mikasa says

Mikasa rushes past the other Soldiers and takes out the abnormal titan. She lands on top of the fallen titan, just in front of the people. She looks up to notice the wagon blocking the gate.

Fay lands right beside Mikasa.

“Excuse me...what is all this?” Mikasa asks

“Couldn’t have asked for better timing! Force these useless morons to push this wagon! I’ll pay you handsomely!” Dimo Reeves yells to Mikasa

Mikasa looks at Dimo with shock, “Seriously? Soldiers are dying back there! Laying down their lives for you. All because this is taking too long.”

“Yeah, that’s their job. You expect me to shed a tear cause they gotta fulfil the duties they signed on for? They’re supposed to be willing to lay down their lives! Don’t get all high handed on me just cause you finally gotta earn your damn keep after all these years!” Dimo yells

Mikasa scowls and jumps off of the titan and begins approaching Dimo, “Yeah...no arguing with that. You’re absolutely right, SIR! Guess it’s what you call ‘the greater good’. Still, sometimes it’s not the life or death of a soldier that makes the biggest difference.”

“Don’t you even dare! Your commander and I are old friends! One word from me and you’ll be court martialed!” Dimo says

Mikasa finally comes before Dimo and looks down to him, “That word gonna come from beyond the grave?”

Dimo grunts, “Pull the damn wagon out!”

They pull the wagon out and people quickly flood into the gates.

“Nice work there, Mikasa!” Fay says to Mikasa as she taps her on the shoulder, “Looks like you got a fan.”

Mikasa looks over to see a small girl.

“You’re amazing!” the little girl says

“You’ve saved our lives, Miss. All of us are in your debt!” The mother says as she bowes

Mikasa goes wide-eyed before putting her swords away and saluting.

“Excellent response.” Fay says

Mikasa and Fay walk off as it begins raining.

“Good Work, Ackerman. I’m impressed.” Ian says

“I did what I could here, sir. But thank you. I need to be a bit more careful in the future. I inadvertently dulled both of the blades. I’ll do better next time.” Mikasa says
