"Thank you for coming!" I said with a joyful tone as another happy and satisfied customer left our restaurant.
"Sir, I'm going to handle this now," one of my workers said, taking my place.
"Sure, call me if there's any problem," I said. He nodded, and I went back to the kitchen to check what the chefs were doing.
going inside the kitchen. I smelled different kinds of delicious foods; it kind of made my stomach growl, and I drooled. I shook my head and checked what they were doing. So far, so good, and I'm actually surprised that they learned about the recipes for the new additions to the menu. No wonder this restaurant is popular
"Hey, Win!" I heard a voice from behind. I turned around and saw P'New. "Checking the foods?"
I laughed. "That sounds inappropriate, but I'll answer yes." We both laughed, and I took a look at one of the ready-to-be served foods. "I'm actually surprised that they learned the recipe for the foods that I added almost immediately."
"Well, chefs here are talented" he said. Despite those noisy clangs and sounds of knives, I think they still heard P'New, and everyone cooed at him. "Oh, shut up. I'm flustered too. Now get back to cooking."
Everyone laughed and went back to do their work. I had never been this happy in my life. It was all going downhill before, but now it's finally going uphill, and it feels so surreal.
"So, how are Gun and the twins?" he asked.
"Oh, they're fine. P'Gun has time now to sleep and rest since P'Off has been coming home more often and not late," I explained.
"That's good. I haven't seen Gun in years now."
"Oh! That's right. The twins' birthday is tomorrow, and they want you and P'Singto to come to the party."
"Really? Tomorrow?" he asked frantically. I nodded. "Oh my god, why did you just tell me about that just now?"
"Cause I just remembered about it just now?" I said, more like a question.
"You have to come with me to buy the twins some gifts," he said, pointing at me. Gifts.
"Sure, I'm planning on it anyway, and the restaurant will be closing early, right?" I said. And he nodded.
After some chatting, We decided to get back to our own work. I went back to my office to get some papers done.
Now that I think about it, Sun's birthday is in two months now. I think he told me about him wanting his birthday to be a pool party. Though I want it to be a surprise for him, now that I think about it, should I invite Bright? I mean, he is Sun's dad...
I also know that someday Sun will need to know who his real dad is, even if I want to tell them the truth. I can't. Not now.
This place is still not safe. Once I got rid of them and made sure that they would not hurt them, maybe, just maybe, we could live and I could finally breathe properly knowing that the sun is safe.
