"Aye she gon trip." Khalil said opening up the front door as He and Elijah both walked into their mothers house.
"Mane shut the fuck up, i'm already knowing you ain't gotta tell me." Eli said irritated as they both instantly walk into their moms room.
"Hey ma." Eli said walking over to her bed giving her a hug. "Why I have a dream about fish." she said calmly.
both of them didn't say anything.
"Anything? Khalil? Elijah?" she said with a raised eyebrow. Khalil looked down not trying to tell on Elijah instantly.
"it's me." Eli said as he huffed, pulling out the ultrasound photo that Lamoni had gave him. he showed it to his mother.
he kept it with him for some reason. He didn't know why but he just put it in his wallet and he just kept it their, never taking it out.
granted he hasn't shown it to anyone,he just wanted it to be there.
"Boyy I knew it." she said snatching it from him before taking a long look at it. "Wait." She said quietly pulling her eyebrows together.
"Two?" She said looking up at him with a squint.
he nodded before letting out a light chuckle. "yeah, twins ." he said with a smile observing the picture with her as if he hadn't seen it a hundred times
"Damn am I really finna be a granny ?" She said . "You sure they yours?" She asked.
she wasn't asking to be ignorant, or mean. she was asking if her son was one hundred percent sure that they was his.
"yea. one hundred percent sure." he said sitting down next to her. "Can I keep this?" She asked pointing to the picture.
Eli looked over looking at her before saying "Yeah." standing up he smelled food. "Whatchu cook?" he said.
"I made chicken, cornbread, greens, and beans." She said sitting back staring at ultrasound picture.
Khalil looked up fro his phone "shid you ain't gotta tell me twice." he said before running out the room to the kitchen causing Eli to shake his head at him.
Eli turned trying to walked out the room but his mother stopped him. "don't try and leave. I want to talk with you." she said sitting the picture down on the nightstand.
Eli huffed knowing how this talk was finna go. it wasn't going to be a talk it's going to be her talking about everything he does.
walking over to the bed he sat at the edge. "now you know being a father is a huge responsibility." she said and Eli nodded.
"I know your grown. but you're still a teenager. you are nineteen. so it's going to be a lot, hell one baby is hard enough but your having two Elijah." she continued
"how old is the girl?" she asked. "She Eighteen now." Eli said.
"are y'all together?" she asked. Eli just shook his head. "Y'all are both young both in your teen years so if you guys as a collective decide to go through with this. I support."
