Lamoni K'lee Simons
Detroit Michigan

"WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME." Moni said as she ran to her closet. Eli just pulled up telling her to get ready for the barbecue today.

"why the fuck are you yelling." he said blankly looking up at her.

"and i did fucking tell you. You just wasn't listening. Pay attention next time damn." he spat at her.

Moni scrunched her eyebrows together at his rudeness. Eli was always like this. he was hot and cold. sometimes he was nice, others it's like he didn't care about her feelings and said what ever he wanted.

She just got her clothes out and when to get in the shower. getting ready she didn't say a word to Eli.

She just didn't want him to snap on her, because every time he did she would end up crying.

she blamed it in the hormones because she normally wasn't a big cryer. after finishing her makeup she walked into Leon's room turning on the light.

she remembered that he wasn't there and turned back around turning off his light.

Mrs.brooks asked Moni to let him come over and play since her grandsons were asking about him.

"I'm ready." she walked into the living room telling Eli. He didn't say a word he just stood to his feet walking out the house.

Lamoni sighed sliding her forces on before following him out the house. She locked the door getting in the car.

as they began driving moni began to grow nervous about being around all of Eli's people.

"I'm nervous." she said out of nowhere. Eli didn't say anything. he kept his eyes on the road.

He didn't feel like talking today, to anybody. The barbecue is for his dad it was his birthday. His mom almost always throws a barbecue for his birthday.

It was a tradition that she did even when he was alive, she kept it going cause she knew that's what he would've wanted.

Everybody was always happy at the barbecue, no one ever showed a bit of sadness. not Eli.

around this time he became meaner than he usually was. It angered him that they was acting like he wasn't gone.

acting like it was ok that they couldn't talk to him, hug him, see him, or tell him happy birthday ever again.

he hated these barbecues. when he was younger he would beg his mom to let him go somewhere else, anywhere but the house on the day of the barbecue.

he didn't wanna see his family or friends partying, eating, or laughing because it reminded him that his father could no longer do any.

he really didn't want to bring moni. He didn't even know why his mother suggested he bring her today of all days. she knew how much he hated the barbecue.

he started regretting telling her about the barbecue at all, he coulda just had them meet another day.

he would stay home if it was up to him but he knew fluid mother would call nonstop trying to get him toy come so he just decided to sit in his old room away from everybody.
