He leans against a pillar inside the indoor parking lot, hiding from the approaching soldiers with guns raised.

He made it, but there are no signs of Jacob and everyone else. They might be above him, or below him. And due to his situation, he can't go to them.

Then why not make them go to him? The idea just gives him a sinister smile that is completely out of his character.

He would gently place Setsuko on the floor, making sure she's against the pillar and hiding. Her sleeping face was rather calm and elegant, but it wasn't surprising for him since he already has seen it.

Is that something to be proud of?

"I'll be back soon. Going to make some noise," he chuckles at himself and steps away from her.

He would activate his transformation and transfer some elemental energy to his claw, making it more lethal and poisonous. This time he is prepared.

With his claw, he would gather his energy to his fingertips, creating a purple sphere just like what he did with the demon he encountered at the invention centre.

He leaps out of cover, whipping the sphere towards a soldier, knocking him out with a slam to the floor. The rest of the soldiers would notice him and start firing.

For some reason, the bullets seem slower. They were fast, but a bit slower. Is this the power of the demon kicking in? Enhanced Perception?

He takes the idea to walk past each bullet that a soldier fires, leaving them astonished at his fast movement.

Of course, that's just their perspective.

It wasn't until Jason got close enough to the soldier to stab him with his claw, killing the soldier.

The body drops and the feeling of killing a human will forever linger in his mind, but he feels a change in himself.

When he stabbed the soldier with his claw, it felt like he drained the soldier's soul or essence of life.

A new feeling.

More soldiers will start to fire, leaving him more bullets to dodge.

He would dodge the constant fire from the soldiers for about a minute but notice two soldiers throwing objects at him. A better look at it, he realizes that they threw grenades.

He takes the chance to step away from the grenade, which felt more like a leap considering that he grew a good distance from it.

The grenades explode, shaking the parking lot. Cars start to beep constantly because of the abnormal shake.

Well, that probably got Jacob's attention. Now it's time to hold them off until they come-

A spear would crash into his neck, causing him to fall to his knees.

Where did the spear come from?

Realistically, if he was still human, he would already be dead from the spear the moment it touched. No, he would've died from those bullets minutes ago.

The spear didn't make him fall unconscious, but it stuns him as he fell on his knees, vision slightly blurry.

If he was a full demon, this wouldn't hurt him at all.

Except he's not.

He watches soldiers cautiously approach him with guns still raised and aimed at him.

With a swift motion, he would slip the spear out of his neck, swinging it around him, cutting soldiers that stand near him.

He manages to kill a few, but other soldiers were fast enough to react and dodge the spear.
