Chapter 9: Hidden feelings

Laurentia's POV:

Next morning I found both Sinasta and Harris waiting for me outside my palace. Both were looking fascinating especially in the sunshine they were shining differently. Their smiles were adorable." Good morning dear, we were waiting for you. Come let's go to have some fun." Harris said. Umm.. what will we be doing I wondered.

I followed them. They were heading towards a large ground which is mainly used for war games. Many people were waiting for us there."What's going on here" I asked both of them. "Me and Harris is going to have a sword fight. All these people are gathered here to watch us battling." Sinasta replied.

"By the way Laurentia who do you want to win?" Harris asked. Well this was a complicated question because both of them has left a quite interesting impression on me. But if I have to choose any single then I guess it would be Sinasta.

"It doesn't bother who will win,but both of you make sure not to hurt each other." I told them and here I did it again. I always do this, what I think and what I say both are completely different. As I'm not so good at expressing my thoughts. I wanted Sinasta to win, but couldn't speak. So, I just wish both of them good luck.

"Good luck Sinasta. I want to see you win." and here comes the most weird girl I have seen 'ACHLYS'. "Thanks" Sinasta said almost ignoring her. The smile she carried while wishing him slowly fade away. That might be because of the rude behaviour of Sinasta.

"I'll see after the game. Please cheer for me." Sinasta said smiling. Gosh.. his smile. As I was not familiar with many people there so I stood beside Achlys. "Do you like him?" Achlys asked me. What a weird question. Truly I also don't know the answer. But for the time being saying no was the best choice I can make.

"No" I replied to her. A wide smile came across her face. "That's great. Then I can be friend with you but remember a thing I can't stand people stealing what's mine" She said still smiling. What was that. At first I thought she doesn't like me but now I guess know what's truly the matter is.

The fight has started. Their moves were startling me. Both of them was so perfect that it became difficult to guess who will win. This game lasted long. But then we got our winner, it was Sinasta. Everyone was so pleased that their prince won the battle.

Harris doesn't looked disappointed. Their friendship was truly amazing. Sinasta head to me and Achlys. Achlys was almost mad about his win. Her excitement was on another level. But Sinasta didn't said a word to her. "So how do I played. Do you like it. Are you happy." he asked me. Expressions of Achlys became fierce.

"You both played really well. Both of you for sure will be good on battlefield." I simply replied, considering both of them. "How do I played Achlys?" Harris asked her. "Well, I hadn't noticed much. But you must have played nice." she said sadly.

By spending a whole day with three of them I got to know about their feelings... Harris liked Achlys who's in love with Sinasta. The only feeling I couldn't figure out was mine and Sinasta's. After giving a thought to it I decided to ask Sinasta about Achlys.

" What do you think of Achlys? " I asked him when no one was around. "There's nothing between us. I'm also not sure of friendship, she is just simply a witch. Also I don't like the attitude she carries with her. So I never get too close to her. On the other hand you are the exact opposite of her so I don't have to think about her. " he said laughing.

I didn't know what to say. Sinasta was getting close to me and I couldn't do anything for Achlys. She was madly in love with Sinasta, but I can't force him to stay away from me and get involved with Achlys. I suddenly saw a shadow, someone have been listening to us. Who could it be.

I waited for Sinasta to go. I didn't find it right to tell him. I just don't want someone to be punished for eavesdropping on prince. So I decided to just see it myself. When Sinasta left I headed towards the pillar where the person is being hiding.

So it was the worst thing that could happen. There was Achlys who has been listening to us. Her gaze was full of anger and resentment. "I already told you I won't let people steal from me what's mine. Tell me why... why you have to do this. You barely know Sinasta and there's me who even know what kind of food Sinasta like. But if Sinasta can't be mine he can't be yours to, I will make sure this. You just wait, your life will become miserable now." She said crying and left. She didn't even gave me a chance to explain.

That was enough for me for a day to deal with. Such a pleasant day turned into a frightening one. But what have I ever done wrong, it wasn't my fault that Sinasta doesn't have any feelings for her. But telling Sinasta abkut today's incident will make things worse. So I decided to forget this.

When I was about to sleep I suddenly thought about a strange man I saw tonight when Achlys was mad at me. That was the first time I saw him in the Palace neither Sinasta or Harris introduced him to me. So who was the man and what if he told Sinasta about today's incident.

This thought gave me goosebumps, because what I have learnt about Sinasta till now he won't let it go easily and might end up hurting Achlys. Things were not going what I was expecting a few days ago. I saw Sinasta as my best friend and was happy. But now the feelings was changing and I didn't know what is waiting for me in the future. But I have to make sure that there will be no harm to Sinasta because of me.

The next morning when we all gathered Sinasta introduced me with a new person. He was him. The one who was watching me the other night.

"Laurentia this is Humphy. The most trusted man in the Empire. He is my right hand and just like my uncle. He was sick so wasn't present for few days." he said. "Hello Mr. Humphy nice to meet you". Sinasta was calm looked like Humphy didn't tell anything to Sinasta. But wait.. he was his right hand then why didn't he told him. This was strange. The more people I'm meeting the more strange things were turning.

I need to know why Humphy kept the whole thing about last night with him.
When everyone left I decided to ask him. "Mr. Humphy I wondered if you were loyal to Sinasta why didn't you told him about yesterday." I asked him confidently although I wasn't.

"Miss Laurentia, I listened everything yesterday but didn't tell Sinasta anything. This act wasn't for you. Well I will like to make things more clear. Humphy will always be on that side which is beneficial to him." He said laughing.

This wasn't the answer I was waiting for. Listening something like this from Sinasta's right hand was terrifying. Sinasta believed Humphy so much that even if I told him about this it will make no difference.

Everything in the Palace was going wrong. Both for me and Sinasta. On one side there's Achlys who can do anything to hurt me to get close to Sinasta and on the other was Humphy who is greedy old man which can even betray his master.
