Bound to Fall Apart

Epilogue

I focused my gaze on the vanity mirror. I'm staring at myself, wondering if I'm still the same person I was a month ago.

I haven't changed anything about my appearance except my hair, which has completely transformed. My previous long wavy copper strawberry blonde hair and my current long straight deep brown hair are both flattering, but well, I think the latter really suits me better.

"Hey, Aria. Is my hair... okay?" I was skeptical when I asked that.

"Oo naman po, Miss!" Sagot nito agad. "Bakit niyo naman po natanong 'yan?" Medyo natatawa pa siya.

Bakit ko nga ba natanong 'yon?

I groaned. "Seriously, bagay ba?"

I like your hair. The sound of someone's voice echoed inside my head. That awakened me!

Will I still be complimented the same way by that someone now that my hair is completely different from before? Why am I even thinking about it?

"Oo nga po, Miss. Ang ganda-ganda niyo nga po e," sagot niya. "Bigla po yata kayong na-conscious?" She gave me a grin.

"Oo nga, Miss, bigla ka yatang na-conscious?" Gatong naman ni Mara na nakangisi rin.

"Ewan ko sa inyo," sabi ko at saka tumayo. Natawa naman sila sa reaksyon ko. "Tara na nga."

Lumabas na kaming lahat sa bahay at saka sumakay sa van.

"We will miss you, Miss Cai," biglang sabi ni Mara sa kalagitnaan ng byahe.

Aria didn't say a word, but I saw her looked away so we wouldn't see her crying.

"We will see each other again, okay? I can visit you here, or you can visit me there," I said with a reassuring smile on my face.

When we arrived at the building, I didn't take them with me and told them I would just go upstairs alone.

I took a deep breath before knocking on the door of the unit where the person I needed to talk to live. When she saw me after opening the door, her eyes widened.

"Hi," I greeted.

"A-akala ko nasa ibang bansa ka? B-bakit ka nandito? Ay, teka pasok ka muna," natatarantang sabi niya.

"Hindi na," I refused, smiling. "Hindi lang naman ako magtatagal. I would just like to ask you for a favor."

"Favor?" She asked in astonishment. Maybe she's wondering why I am here now in front of her to ask for a favor as if nothing had happened.

I nodded. "Kung okay lang sa 'yo..."
