Five years before

It was night time.

Both Dream and George were exhausted from their recent activities and were laying down in their bed. Their bodies wrapped around each other, their skins touching under those sheets that covered their nudity.

Dream had his arms around the brunette's waist, with his eyes closed. George was stroking his lover's hair, smiling at the man holding him.

He wanted that moment to last forever.

He looked up at Dream, watching how calmed he was. He was probably asleep. George was fighting the tiredness of his eyes, trying to stay awake to admire the beauty of his lover.

"I love you." he whispered at the sleeping man against his skin.

It was the first time he had said it.

George wasn't very good with emotions. He didn't like saying stuff like that; he preferred showing it. And he knew he did.

Every day George would make sure Dream felt loved, even if he didn't say those words.

Which was fine because Dream hadn't said them either.

He smiled once again before losing the battle against sleep.

It was the happiest day of his life.

George had gone out to the market early in the morning, looking for new elements for his flower collection. He was back at the house, excited to tell his boyfriend about his new acquisition: tulips.

"Dream, I'm back!" he called the man as he entered the house. He closed the door and took his cloak off, placing it in a chair."Where are you?"

"In the studio!" he heard a faint voice coming from upstairs.

He ran to his lover with a smile on his face, feeling content with the new tulips he had bought minutes before. He wanted to plant them and let them grow, so that he could give one to Dream, showing him his love for the man.

He didn't bother to knock on the door, opening the wooden structure with rush. Dream was sitting behind his desk, with his face buried in some papers.

"Hi honey." George greeted walking towards the blond. "What are you doing?"

"Nothing." the man answered dryly. George tried not to pay too much mind to that. It was probably the stress of his work. He placed himself behind the blond, bringing his hands to Dream's chest as he hugged him.

"I bought some flowers. I thought we could plant them together, just like the last time." he proposed in a whisper to the man sitting. Dream looked up at him and gave him a look George could decipher.

"Sure, let's go." Dream agreed standing up abruptly, separating both bodies harshly. George's heart crushed a little at the action. He shook his head and followed Dream.

Both of them walked in silence to the garden that had all types of flowers. It was an open garden in the back of the house they lived in. When they moved in together, Dream had told George that he could do whatever he wanted to the house, but the brunette only wanted a garden. He had spent the last year growing his flower collection and using that place to go relax every once in a while.

George kneeled in front of the new slot he had made for the tulips, followed by Dream. He turned to look at him and gave him a fond smile.

"I bought tulips." the brunette whispered like it was a secret. "Did you know they mean true love?"
