What the hell was going on? What was Alex doing in Barnesimere and why was he threatening Dream?

Before that morning, all George knew about Alex was that he was a cook from the castle. He was a chaotic but nice person who could always make you laugh, even in the worst scenarios.

He wouldn't have considered him his friend, but when they met, they immediately clicked and had a great dynamic. Even though they didn't know each other very well, they used to joke around all the time.

Their relationship was based on them both mocking at each other. But the way he talked to George that morning was different. It was like George was talking to a totally different person.

What did he had to do with Dream? And why did he say he needed to kill him?

It hadn't been smart of George to have let him go, but his shock had let him get away.

"George." Dream said behind him. He turned George around and gave him a confused look. "What are you doing here?"

"I–" he looked at the group of armed people around them. "Can we talk somewhere private?"

"Of course." the blonde accepted with a forced smile.

It hurt George knowing he had hurt Dream with his words. Even though he couldn't see his expression because of the mask he was wearing, he could see the pain in those golden eyes he could only imagine being green.

"Boss," one of the men called. "shouldn't we kill–"

"Finish that sentence and I'll kill you." Dream threatened.

"I'm just saying, what if he is a snitch?"

"Look Michael, I know you are new to the group but there is no way George is a snitch." someone stated from George's left. He turned to see Luke. "He's too dumb to do that."

"At least I can stab someone properly." he counter-attacked at his friend. He gave him a playful look, which was the only hint of him not being resentful at the man for the injury he gave him.

"I'm glad to see you're okay." Luke voiced in a serious tone and smiled at the brunette.

"Me too."

"Let's go the office, shall we?" Dream offered. George nodded and went to get Spirit.

Dream waited for him while the others left.

"You got your own horse, huh?" Dream asked trying to break the awkward silence that surrounded them.

"More like stole it." George mentioned with a smile. He could see Dream trying to repress one.

"I'm pretty sure that's illegal, George."

"You would know about that, wouldn't you?" he tried to joke but he saw how Dream's irises darkened. "Dream I– It was a joke."

"I know, it's just... Why are you here George?" he asked stopping George from walking.

There they were, in the middle of a shady alley, with no one around. The group had left them and it wouldn't be long until they missed their boss's presence.

"I'll tell you when we get to the office." George stated. He didn't want to have this conversation with Dream in the middle of nowhere.

"We are not going there." Dream mentioned looking away.

"Why not?"

"Because you're going back to the castle. I'm not risking my life for you to rat me out. You were pretty clear yesterday about not wanting me in your life." he answered angrily.
