As soon I turned around to look in front of me, I was greeted by darkness.

No, not just darkness. In the distance, I saw.. light? At some distance from me in the mouth of the forest, red circles of light.

Two in number, glowing in the darkness like a pair of rubies. Not ordinary ones, rubies obtained from some kind of alchemy.

I don't see how else a pair of gems so pure, blood red and lustrous could be obtained.

Wolves? No couldn't be, the woodland is not dense enough to house wolves in it.

A cold breeze hit my face, causing me to close my eyes for a moment and when I opened them, the lights were gone.

They disappeared just how they appeared, out of nowhere.

I stood there in the middle of the road, gazing in the direction of the forest, pondering over a question in my mind.

Should I... go check it out? What if it's actually a wolf? What if it's not? What if it's something even more terrifying?

Till now, I had a pretty steady control over my nerves.

The smell of homeland, the cold and silent ambience of Kingston loosened up my tied up cranial organ and made me relax.

However now, a strange unknown feeling. Something like a fear I never knew could take over my mind overwhelmed me.

I took a quick glance around me.

I don't need to go there right?

I quickly disposed that thought and turned towards the cemetary.

This time was perfect to pay my respects to all the people who had lost their lives to this nightmare.

There will be no one around either and there's still some time till it's ten.

Thinking this, I started walking to the cemetery. The more steps I took, the heavier my heart started getting.

When I reached, guilt started consuming me.

My people in Kingston were going through this horror all this time and then there's me, living in the hustle-bustle of the city,

a place something like a monster couldn't even touch.

I dragged my feet to Ray's grave and kneeled in front of it.

"Ray, I missed you buddy. I'm so sorry. I didn't think you'll leave me this early. Thank you so much for being with me when nobody wanted to. Thank you for always being there for me, even though I couldn't do the same for you. I love you so much. I'm sorry."

I couldn't hold my tears back any longer. I let my head hit the grave stone, tears overflowing and hitting the moist soil of the old cemetary.

I clutched onto the rose I brought for him so tight that the thorns pierced through the skin of my palms.

I placed it on his grave and sat up again, sniffling.

"I'm sorry I couldn't get a garland as beautiful as you but..this is all I can afford. I really hope you like it."

Placing the rose down on the stone, I was about to turn to Seolhyun hyung's grave when suddenly an arm came from behind me and their bicep slammed against my throat, trapping me.
