-Zaya Brown-
It's been about a week since the play and nothing serious has happened after that. As for Zhaye he acts likes nothing happened so I did same. It was a nice windy Saturday so I opened my windows and started strumming along with my guitar.
"It sounds good what are you playing?" Zhaye comes up to his window and asks me. "Nothing... just going with the flow." "Hmm going with the flow." "Had fun yesterday?" I asked. "Why the question?" "Zhaye if you're going to have one of you hook ups at least make sure I don't hear it. It's annoying and disgusting." He just nodded.
"So how's football?" I asked. "Pretty good actually. You should come see me play." He said leaning into the window frame. "I'm good with my guitar and cookies." I said lifting up my plate. "Can I have one?" He asked and I lifted a brow. "Please?" I nodded and passed the plate on to him.
"Are you not tired of being alone all the time?" He said with his mouth stuffed with cookies. "Number 1 I'm not alone number 2 I like being alone." "When was the last time you talked to someone that wasn't me?" He asked he made me think and he was right I really don't have friends.
"It doesn't matter I'm doing just fine alone." "Don't you feel lonely?" "Having you as a neighbor." I replied. "Ouch." "Give me back my cookies." I said trying to snatch it away from him but he took a couple steps back. "No." He says taking another one from the plate and he puts it in his mouth.
"Can I have my cookies back?" "Not until I finish them." He replied and I frown. "You know to come to think of it I don't even know your birthday." "You want to know my birthday?" "Yea?" He sounded hesitant. "May 26." "Mines is January 18 looks like I'm older." I rolled my eyes.
"My cookies." "Oh yea here." He said handing me an empty plate. "Seriously." "It's just cookies." "That took me a while to make." He rolled his eyes and sat on his chair. "Oh and my moms going away and I'm going to throw a party tonight you should come." "And hear girls moaning your name? I'm good." "Mhm."
•the week after•
"Hello." This girl walked up to me. "Hey." I replied. "Can I do anything for you?" I asked. "Um... no. I'm Alya by the way." "Zaya." "Im a new student here and I was wondering if I could sit here?"
I was ready to say no but then thinking about what Zhaye said last time about feeling lonely made me think.
"Sure. Sit down I don't have anyone to sit with anyway." I smiled.
Without knowing what I had just done. I ended up spending one of the best lunching of my life. For once I didn't feel lonely. Even if this 'thing' that Alya just started. I wouldn't mind giving in and seeing to where it leads.
-3 months later-
"Zaya!" I heard my mom call me from downstairs. "Yes mom coming!" I yelled back jumping off my bed and rushing downstairs to see what she needs.
"Alya is here." My mom said walking back to her office. "Oh hey Alya. How are you?" I asked as we were going upstairs into my room. "Good good and so how are things?" "Things?" I questioned and she rolled her eyes in response.
"Between you and Zhaye." I laughed "nothing would, could, or should ever happen. "But you like him." "As a friend." "Stop lying." "Yea yea whatever." "So you do like him." I slightly nod in defeat.
"So what's going on you know he is just right across your window?" "Of course I know I've been his neighbor for months now." "Why don't you confess." "Because I won't and you know I'm not even being here for long." "Who knows maybe I'll be leaving tomorrow first class to another country."
"Im sure it won't happen at least not till the end of the year." Alya says. "What if he feels the same way about you especially when he sees you in the halls at school the look he gives you." She starts.
"I would want to be in your place. I mean high school love." I rolled my eyes. "Do you know how much I would pay just for someone to look at me like that?"
"Money?" "Exactly money." "But look every week he comes in with a- not even every week every day there is someone new." "Let's say I don't confess." Alya slightly nods.
"What if he thinks I am just another girl he wants to fuck?" "Just some one night stand?" She rolls her eyes. "Look I'd rather stay alone for the rest of my life than being some one night stand for someone who think of me the same way." "You know what you're right."
"But maybe he likes you. You'll never know until you confess." "Anyways how are things between you and Mason?" I nudged her shoulder.
Mason is a guy see met in one of her class a few weeks later. They quickly fell for each other. Love at first sight some would call it.
"He is perfect." she fell down on my bed. "I can see you have a big ass smile on your face whoever you talk about him." "Love at first sight." "Mhm." I said picking up my guitar. "You know what?" She asked and I lifted my head up.
"Let's go shopping." "But I never find anything." "Ok we'll trying online shopping then. You know what. I'm staying over." She said. "It's going to be a girls weekend enough of this boy thinking."
"Ok uh sure why not. You sure your parents are ok with you staying here?" "Come on now I love down the street if they need me I'll just run back." "Ok then." "Let's go to the mall." She sang.
"Can you drive?" I asked. "No but you can."
