"Seriously, what in the world could possibly make enduring this garden worthwhile?" Chan mused aloud as he approached the barefoot girl, Y/n. Standing beside her, he glanced around at the scenery she was so enamored with, her eyes sparkling with wonder.

At first, Chan failed to see anything extraordinary about the garden until he turned to steal a glimpse at Y/n. Seizing the opportunity, she leaned forward, catching him off guard with a proper kiss this time—slow, passionate, and brimming with mutual desire. As they parted, the silence between them seemed to crystallize.

Taking advantage of the moment, Chan found himself staring into Y/n's mesmerizing eyes, the warmth of her lips still lingering on his own. "Well, I must admit, it's quite a lovely garden," he remarked with a chuckle, allowing Y/n to take the lead as they began to explore further, his thoughts still lingering on the kiss.

Their stroll through the garden felt like a scene from a romantic movie, bathed in the soft glow of moonlight and accompanied by the sweet melody of their laughter. In the distance, the lights from surrounding houses added to the enchanting atmosphere.

Eventually, they stumbled upon a simple wooden bench with a heartfelt inscription. Y/n read it aloud, her voice tinged with emotion, "For June, who loved this garden... from Joseph who always sat beside her." Though she didn't read the dates carved below, the realization of the enduring love depicted left her slightly choked up. "Some people truly do spend their whole lives together," she murmured, her gaze meeting Chan's.

...

The following evening, in Changbin and Chan's flat, Chan dashed downstairs in a towel, water droplets clinging to his chiseled abs from a recent shower. Frantically searching for his glasses, he vented his frustration to Changbin, who lounged lazily with a newspaper.

"Bloody hell, have you seen my glasses?"

Changbin shrugged nonchalantly. "Afraid not."

Chan grumbled, continuing his search. "Every time I need them, they vanish into thin air. It's one of life's cruel jokes." Changbin's slow, deliberate response would normally irk him, but the ticking clock diverted his attention. "Oh crap, is it that late? I've got to go."

Racing back upstairs to pick out an outfit for his date, Chan returned fully dressed and thanked Changbin sarcastically for his nonexistent assistance. "You're a real lifesaver," he quipped before grabbing his wallet and phone.

Now at the cinema, midway through the film, Y/n sat in the middle of the audience, engrossed in the screen while munching on salted butter popcorn. Beside her sat Chan, his vision aided by scuba-diving goggles—the only solution he could find to watch the movie clearly.

Unable to contain her laughter, Y/n playfully tossed popcorn at Chan, who mockingly feigned injury, a grin spreading across his face.

After immersing themselves in the movie's world, Y/n and Chan ventured to a sleek, modern Japanese restaurant that exuded sophistication in every detail. Seated comfortably near the end of their meal, Y/n leaned in, her elbow resting on the table as she engaged deeply in their conversation. Likewise, Chan mirrored her posture, leaning in close with his arms crossed on the table, his attention fully captivated.

Their dialogue delved into Chan's past, particularly his previous relationship. "So, who called it quits?" Y/n inquired, her curiosity piqued. "She was the one who walked away," Chan confessed, a hint of resignation in his voice.

"Why?" Y/n pressed, intrigued by the dynamics of Chan's past romance. "She saw through me," Chan pondered for a moment, his tone tinged with a mix of sarcasm and humor, as he gave her an answer to lighten up the atmosphere even more than it already was.

Y/n's expression shifted playfully as she played along. "That's tough," she remarked, empathizing with Chan's fake vulnerability.

As their conversation flowed seamlessly, devoid of pauses or awkwardness, it became evident how comfortable they had grown with each other. They exchanged playful banter and teasing remarks with ease, their bond deepening with each passing moment.

Their tranquility, however, was momentarily interrupted by the boisterous chatter emanating from a nearby table occupied by a group of businessmen, their voices carrying across the restaurant.

Chan and Y/n exchanged amused glances, intrigued by the lively discussion unfolding nearby. With a subtle gesture, Y/n signaled for Chan to discreetly eavesdrop on their conversation.

"I'd choose Y/n Scott any day," one of the men declared emphatically, prompting Y/n and Chan to exchange knowing smiles.

"I didn't like that last film of hers. Fast asleep from the moment the lights went down." The conversation veered toward a critique of a recent film starring Y/n Scott, with one man expressing dissatisfaction. Y/n's eyes sparkled mischievously as she leaned in, her curiosity piqued.

Ignoring the criticism, another man interjected, "I'm not fussed about the film itself. Any movie featuring her... count me in." Y/n's smile widened at the praise, her admiration for the actress evident. Chan did too, any reaction she did, pulled him to do the same too.

However, the conversation took a distasteful turn as the men began discussing another actress, making lewd remarks about her behavior. "Whatever, she's so clearly up for it." Y/n's amusement faded, her expression morphing into one of discomfort and dismay.

Chan, noticing her change in demeanor, leaned in closer, offering silent support. The conversation turned increasingly derogatory, with the men making disparaging comments about the actress's personal life and character.

"You know... some girls, they're all 'stay away chum' but Y/n, she's absolutely gagging for it. Do you know that in over fifty per cent of languages the word for 'actress' is the same as the word for 'prostitute'?"

Y/n's jaw tightened, her indignation simmering beneath the surface. As the conversation veered into offensive territory, Y/n exchanged a meaningful glance with Chan, silently conveying her disdain for the conversation.

At that moment, their solidarity spoke volumes, reaffirming the bond between them as they united against the toxicity of the discussion unfolding nearby.
