CHAPTER FOUR

    Lunch break, my favorite period out of all my schedule. Sophie and I dropped off our stuff in the lockers and proceeded our way to the cafeteria without Connor who went along with his buddies. I'm honestly beware of him after what he said. Is he trying to hit on me? Or just fooling around? You know what, why bother ponder?

    "Seems like we need to eat somewhere else." Sophie said.

    I quickly scanned the cafeteria. No vacant table can be seen but then I saw Reid coming out of the line holding his food tray.

    "I don't think so." I approached Reid and he greeted me with a smile.

    "Hi, Reid. Where's Evelyn?" I asked.

    "Oh, she's at our table. Right there." I followed where he was pointing and saw Evelyn and Logan talking casually while eating. Then Logan burst into laughter which made him even more attractive. Oh shit. Celin, pull yourself together!

    "Can we join you guys?" I asked for the sake of formalities. I don't like to assume and intrude other people's spaces. Plus, consent is a must and a sign of respect.

    "Of course! Oh, Sophie. You two are friends?" He asked, as soon as he noticed Sophie behind me. In return, Sophie nodded plainly.

    We joined their table, I sat next to Evelyn on her right side while Reid sat next to Evelyn's left side. Sophie on the other hand took a seat across the table in front of me and she's just right next to Logan. I found out Sophie was Josie's younger sister after Evelyn told me about it. They've welcomed Sophie and I to eat with them together next time. I guess it was the first time Sophie joined to eat lunch with her sister's friends. I wonder, if she ever eats with anyone at school before I got here. Connor and her seems close though. Aside from that, the thought that Logan is just a close by makes me uncomfortable like I don't know how to act like myself. I've been avoiding to look where he is and tried my best to focus my attention to my lunch and Evelyn who's complaining about her Literature teacher for awhile until somone interrupted her.

    "You're hate towards Mr. Richter's doesn't ever end. Huh?" A girl with beautiful strawberry blonde locks and tall slender stature chimed in. This took my interest since I think I saw her before, she looks very familiar.

    "Josie! Finally, you're back." Evelyn stood up and they both exchanged hugs and cheek kisses. Josie looked around the table and her bright face faded when she saw Logan.

    "By the way, this is Celin my cousin." Evelyn step aside for Josie to see me in 'all of my glory' but she's too beautiful, I think I'm having a starstruck moment.

    "Hi." I waved my hand and smiled.

    "Hello, nice to meet you. By the way I love your outfit." She stepped in closer to do a quick "cheek kiss" to my surprise.

    "See?! I told you." Evelyn said.

    "Uhm, Evie-guys..." Josie said hesitantly. After checking on her phone in which she then continued,

    "I think I need to go. I just came here to check on you guys, I have class in 15 mins. See you around." Josie bid goodbyes and left quickly.

    I wonder why Logan and Josie broke up. She looks so beautiful and they would look good together. What am I saying? Even two people who look like a perfect match, there's always going to be something wrong at the end. Like my parents for example.

    "I don't like it anymore. " Evelyn complained and sat down.

    "Stop pouting, it doesn't fit you." Reid said without glancing to Evelyn. This made Evelyn pissed a bit and stop pouting.

    "What's it about?" I asked.

    "It's just Josie's been super busy and stuff. I don't like it. I thought we'd be able to sit down and chat like we always do."

    "Busy... with school?"

    "No, not in school. In fact she loath school. She's a model." A what?

    That's when it hit me why Josie's face seems familiar. I always see her face on the bus stop adverts and billboards modeling for one of the biggest makeup brands. Sophie said to me that Josie always wanted to be a model and when she got the call it was the start of her busy schedule. It's sureal to think that I'll be able to get close to a model. That's the city of Wingston for you I guess. But because of this, Josie couldn't hangout with Evelyn like they used to since Josie has to finish her assignments right after school to make time for her modeling. Sophie added that she'll be out of the country next month.

    The time flew by and Sophie left as soon as the bell rang to eat out with her family. I remember when me, mom and dad used to eat out at—that was a long time ago what am I saying. I quickly packed my things and was about to go out the classroom when someone blocked my way.

    "Hey, slow down buttercup. I thought we had a deal." I looked up to see Connor. Two pair of deep brown orbs eying on me. He leans in closer. I placed my bag in front of me making a distance between us. He looked down at my bag and chuckled.

    "Did you forgot about it?" Well, almost. I thought he was just joking. I was thinking of a good excuse but he didn't bother to wait for my explaination when he took my hand and dragged me along with him.
