Chapter 9

Knockout sighed. He sat in the med bay with nothing to do. The Sparklings were in a small pen filled with blankets and pillows and toys. Raf was in recharge while Miko was wrestling with a stuffed bear. Jack just watched her.

Starscream walked in, Miko saw him and chirped at him. The seeker smiled and rubbed her tiny helm. She found that she liked Starscream now that he was helping take care of them.

Jack whined a bit and Starscream patted his helm, smiling at the two of them. Knockout commented that he was spoiling them, which made the seeker laugh.

"Megatron wants all of us at a relic location" Starscream said.

"But but but" Knockout chimed.

"They will be fine...look they are still small enough to fit in your chest plates there, and if you want I'll carry one in my cockpit" Starscream said.

"Sigh....fine, I guess you can take Miko with you" Knockout said.

"Alright...and remember use their new names in case the autobots show up" the seeker teased.

"I know that you aft!" Knockout barked.

(Random location)

Knockout leaned on the wall, both Jack and Raf were quiet while hiding. Miko also stayed quiet, the three had come to love Knockout as their parent. Neither one wanted to see him or Starscream get hurt. So they decided on taking a nap.

Starscream rested a servo on his cockpit where Miko was resting, he sighed as he began to think. What would the autobots do if they found out what Shockwave and Megatron did to them. Would they excuse him and Knockout from it or blame them to.

"Starscream!" A voice snapped.

"Sorry master, what did you say?" Starscream asked as he came back to reality.

"Go with the Vehicons to check down the left tunnel" Megatron repeated.

"Oh uh...yes sir" Starscream nodded as he followed the group.

"Knockout" Megatron called.

"Yes master?" Knockout looked at the mech.

"Your to go with the group to the right, I will go down the straight path" Megatron said.

"Yes lord Megatron" Knockout said as he pushed himself off the wall and walked with his small group.

Megatron walked down the straight path, and glanced to both sides of him. The further he walked, the more narrow the tunnel became. He started to wonder is he should have had a vehicon come down this way.

(Left tunnel)

Starscream groaned as a vehicon tripped over another jagged rock. As he waited for him to stand back up he saw a glow. He started to walk towards it when he was grabbed by the wrist.

"AAAHHHH!".

(Right tunnel)

"Sounds like something or someone scared screamer again....another patient for me to tend to" Knockout said.

"Sir look up ahead" a vehicon said.

"Hm?...glowing?" Knockout walked up to the object, and what sat there glowing like a star was a small energon vain.

"Well not the relic but something" Knockout smirked.

(Mini time skip)

"There you all are, have you found anything?" Megatron asked as he stood at the mouth of the cave.

"A small energon vain my lord, should call for more Vehicons to come harvest it" Knockout said.

"I found fragments of what could have been the relic, energon made the wording glow of what parts had words" Starscream said as he held the sheets of metal.

"Hm...the path I took became narrow, whatever the relic may be it's on the move. I'll have the Vehicons go down the middle path to see if they find anything" Megatron said as he looked to the side.

"Lord Megatron, may Starscream and I be excused?" Knockout said as he started to Slowly move backwards.

"Why? Afraid your finish will get ruined?" Megatron asked with a frown.

"Not that my lord...them" Knockout pointed at the three Autobots advancing on them.

"Optimus, how lovely to see you. Come here in hopes to get the relic before me?" Megatron mocked.

"Allowing you to hold any relic would do nothing but harm, I can not allow you to keep any relic" Optimus said, then he spotted Knockout and Starscream.

"Forget them prime, you deal with me" Megatron said as he charged at Optimus.

As the two began to fight the Vehicons started to fight Arcee and Bumblebee. The two weren't worried about the Vehicons, Arcee however wanted to get over to Starscream.

"Knockout we have to go, now" the seeker pulled the medic along before the femme could reach them.

Starscream dragged the medic through the cave. Knockout tried his best to not trip, he looked back to see the femme chasing them. Then Bumblebee joined her.

"Star we won't make it out, they'll catch us before we make it out" Knockout said.

"Like pits they will" Starscream hissed as he suddenly transformed and made sure Knockout landed on him, then took off.

Arcee and Bumblebee both transformed in hopes to catch up. Bumblebee looked in his mirror to see Megatron chasing them and Optimus behind him. He suddenly thought of this like a cartoon chase scene.

Starscream finally made it outside he transformed again and caught Knockout in his arms. Just as he was setting him down, the others all came out of the cave to. Knockout had pure fear in his optics, Starscream was being rather protective of him.

Megatron got in front of the two. A ground bridge opened and more Vehicons came out. Soundwave and Predaking also came through to help secure the area. Soundwave grabbed both Starscream and Knockout and pushed them towards the ground bridge.

"You telling us to go back to the ship?" Knockout asked.

Soundwave nodded, closing the bridge when they went through it. He turned around to see a fuming femme, getting into a fighting stance Soundwave was ready to fight.

(Nemesis)

Knockout held the two in his arms while Starscream held Miko. The three little ones now awake, they placed them in the pen back in the med bay. Knockout then went to get things ready for those who came back.

Starscream watched him and wondered what was going through his processor. He looked down to the Sparklings and watched them start to play with the soft toys.

"I'm going back to help fight, will you be alright here?" Starscream asked.

"Yeah I'll be fine...just be careful" Knockout said.

"I will" Starscream said as he quickly left.
