It was happening. What they had anticipated all week, seeing each other and spending quality time together was finally happening after three words had been sent.

On my way!

Both boys could not hide their joys as one made his way to the other who prepared for the former's arrival. Somehow, their heartbeats were strangely in tune with each other even though they were a few miles apart.

Jeremy

He could not comprehend his need to reread Shane's text. He did not even know how many times he had read those three words that made his heart beat rapidly with anticipation. There was no need for him to be this excited as if Shane had told him he liked him but Jeremy did not care. Shane was coming over, again. And it wasn't because they were in walking distance of the apartment but because Shane actually wanted to.

And he was still sitting on the floor of his living room which looked like a total mess.

Quickly, the tall boy got up and started cleaning as fast as he could, not wanting Shane to see how messy his apartment was. Sure, they were going to do some unpacking and redecorating but that did not mean he couldn't dust the furniture and make sure he had washed his dirty dishes. Had it been anyone else, Jeremy probably wouldn't have cared. There was just something so incredibly riveting about Shane that made Jeremy want to do more.

He lit up a lavender scented candle to cleanse the living room and give it calming aura and refreshing smell but then decided against it since he wasn't sure if Shane was comfortable with scented things. Jeremy paced the room from one end to the other, pacing in front of the door many times and anxiously waiting for Shane to arrive.

He walked to his kitchen and picked up his phone from the counter, opening their messages.

Jeremy but his lip, fighting hard to resist the pressing temptation to call and ask where Shane was as he couldn't wait any longer. He almost gave in, had the doorbell not rang. Jeremy sprinter across the room to his door to let Shane into the building, bumping his knee on his coffee table in the process.

"Fuck!" He groaned out loud, mostly in shame at how difficult it was for him to calm down. He needed to get a grip. Shane would be in his apartment any second and he couldn't afford to keep acting like an idiot in front of him.

Shane

Shane took a deep breath as he stepped into the building, feeling a bit weird as he did so. It felt strange being back for some reason. Shane had this inkling that something was going to happen but he wasn't sure what. A part of him wanted to turn back and run, to cancel and forget about Jeremy altogether, but a larger part of him wanted... no, needed to go in and see what was in store for him. And Shane listened to that part of him instead, because after what had just transpired at home, he really did not want to go back.

His sister had arrived home a few hours before Shane had received Jeremy's text. Like any normal day, he welcomed her with indifference as he helped her climb in through his window. It was no big deal, he had helped her many times when she was high before, but this time, it felt different.

Before his sister had arrived home that evening, Shane was already feeling a bit frustrated as Meghan was annoyed with him. He understood her and knew how much of an ass he was being to her. He wanted to break up with her so badly, and if he was being frank with himself, he knew he should have done it long ago but he didn't want to hurt her.

Thinking about their situation was frustrating so Shane spent the time playing some games to take the edge off. About an hour into a game of Minecraft, he heard a knocking sound on his window. Shane immediately paused his game and went to his window, his eyes wide when he saw his sister on the roof with a busted face.
