"Betty Cooper, you look so un-Cooper like," Cheryl said, getting off of Betty's lap to put all the makeup away.
Betty nervously looked at herself in the mirror. She was wearing a tight, form-fitting pink dress that highlighted her breasts and curves. Her makeup was unlike anything she had ever had done before, but it made her feel beautiful. Despite this, Betty was still having second doubts.
"Cheryl, I don't know if I can do this," she said nervously, biting her nails.
"Oh hush Betty, its just getting drunk. Besides, the whole squad is going to be there. And its not like you have to flirt with someone, you just have to take a few shots." Cheryl was right, in a way, but Betty and the rest of the group were all still underage, only 18 when the legal drinking age was 21. It was a lot harder then Cheryl probably thought. Plus, Betty being the perfect girl next door and all, she had never gotten drunk. What if she hated alcohol?
"Cousin Betty? Cousin Betty? Are you ready to go?"
"What? Oh, um, yeah. Let's go," Betty said, while standing up. She smoothed her dress, then linked arms with Cheryl and they made their way downstairs.
"Oh! Finally! You know, I will never understand what takes you two so long to get ready," Toni teased the pair.
"Oh TT, don't you know? Its all the gossiping about our wonderful, hot, sexy, amazing sex life. See just today I was telling Betty how-"
"Okay, okay I get it. You don't need to repeat every detail. Anyway, ready to go?"
"Yep! Come on Betty," Cheryl said, then linked arms with her girlfriend, walking out the door.
"Great. Item number one, here we go," Betty muttered, then followed her friends out the door.
The bar was alive with music, dancing, and drunk people when the group got there. Betty cringed at the smell of alcohol in the air and the amount of people grinding each other. She doubted most of them knew the other person they were dancing with. Before she could run away, her friends dragged her to the bar.
"Excuse me, bartender?" Kevin asked, the bartender turning around to help them.
"Yes sir? What can I get for you?" He asked.
"A round of shots, for all of my friends here. And, uh, keep 'em coming," Kevin said. The group cheered in response. The bartender poured seven shots, and everyone except Betty drank them.
"Oh come on Betty! Live a little! Drink it! Drink it! Drink it!" Cheryl chanted, the group joining in.
"Okay, okay! I'm drinking it!" Betty picked up the glass, looked at it for a minute, then drank the whole thing. Her friends cheered, as more shots were ordered, and couples went off to dance with each other.
A few hours later, Betty had danced drunkenly, and was currently drinking a cocktail. The bartender saw her all alone, and walked up to her.
"Hey. Where'd all your friends go?" He asked nicely.
Betty laughed, "Oh, probably off to screw each other. Between you and me, I love them, but like, I'm so single compared to them."
"What's your name beautiful?"
"Betty. Betty Cooper. Who are you?"
"My name's Sweet Pea."
Betty giggled, "Well, its nice to meet you Sweet Pea. Care to join me for a drink?"
"I thought you'd never ask." Sweet Pea grabbed a beer of his own, then joined the girl on the bar stools, laughing and talking.
A few hours and drinks later, Betty was still giggling away with Sweet Pea.
"Wait so, your mother wrote you a song just to make you stay at home for the summer?" He asked incredulously.
"Yep. She was so scared that I was gonna leave for college early that she just wrote me a song. It was a shitty song, but hey, she tried." Sweet Pea broke down laughing, the bubbly blonde giggling right along with him. Once the laughter died down, he lost himself staring at Betty's beauty. Eventually she noticed.
"What are you doing?" She asked.
"Looking at you," He replied.
"Why?"
"God, Cause you're beautiful, Betty."
With those words, Betty blushed a deep shade of red. She started leaning in, Sweet Pea following her moves. There lips were inches away, both people leaning closer and closer, longing for just one touch.
And then,
