Betty laid on her bed, thoughts running through her head. She had recently turned 16, and had never had a boyfriend. Betty thought that when she had a boyfriend, her life would become like a million times better. But, nobody at her school interested her enough to date them. Betty thought that it was about time to take control of her own destiny. Betty hopped out of bed, going to her closet to find her sexiest outfit. She put on a jean skirt and a cropped tank top. She let her hair down from her ponytail, and put on some makeup. To finish the look, she slipped on a pair of heeled sandals. Betty opened her window, sneaking out down the ladder, laid conveniently by the window. Glancing around to make sure no one was watching, Betty hopped in the car, and drove away, off into the southside.

After a few minutes, Betty saw this bar, which was alive and pulsing with music. She got out of the car and strode confidently into the bar. There were men everywhere in leather jackets, and women walking around with barely anything on. It was odd to Betty to see. She was so used to the picture perfect northside lifestyle that this hub of southside activity confused the heck out of her. Betty tried to remain confident, but she felt really out of place in the sea of leather. She sat down at the bar, the bartender coming over to ask what she wanted. After she ordered a soda, she looked around the crowd, shocked to see so many teenagers mingling in the bar. Her eyes caught the attention of a man on the opposite side of the room. He had raven-black hair and piercing blue eyes. He was tall, and looked to be skinny but muscular. He was wearing this grey beanie, despite it being May. He was wearing one of the leather jackets, but his had a crown on the snake on the back. He caught her gaze, and could not look away. He excused himself from his friends, and started making his way over to her. He reached her, and sat down next to her at the bar.

"Hey princess. What's a girl like you doing over on this side of town?"

Betty looked at him and scoffed, " What the hell is that supposed to mean?"

He smiled, "Just, you seem like a northsider. And I don't know if you realized, but this is serpent territory. On the southside."

Betty gasped, "Serpents? This is the serpent bar?"

He chuckled at her, "Yeah, didn't you recognize the snake on my back?"

Betty swallowed, desperate to hide her fear. "Of course. I'm not scared. In fact, I totally meant to come her and, uh, drink." At that exact moment, the bartender came back with her soda. Betty flushed, realizing she was caught. The man laughed at her red face.

"I'm Jughead Jones."

"Betty Cooper."

They spent the entire night talking. Anyone looking at them would've thought that they knew each other for months, not hours. When Betty finally looked away from him to look at her phone, she realized it was 3 A.M.

"Shit, Jug. I'm sorry but I gotta go. I have school tomorrow and I don't want my mom to find me not in my room when she wakes me up."

He smiled, "Okay, I'll walk you out." They approached her car, dreading being separated, even for a little bit.

"Hey, so I never asked, where do you go to school?" Betty asked.

He choked, "School?"

"Yeah, I'm in high school. I go to Riverdale High. Do you go somewhere on the southside?" She persisted, innocently.

"You're in high school. How old are you?" He asked.

"Sixteen." She replied, still oblivious.

He took a step back, "Shit, Betty."
