22: "Who shall halt the punishment?"

Chapter 22

I stared blankly at the mirror. My whole face is already on make up. My eyes were smokey and I put a contour on my cheeks. Bumagsak ang tingin sa aking suot. For tonight, I wore a black and white stitching tube evening dress with high slit. Nag - angat ako ng tingin, the familiar necklace brings nostalgic in my mind.

I heard a soft knock from the door. Bumukas ito at inuluwa nito ang naka - white tuxedo na si Loki. He smiled at me when he entered my room. Pinagmasdan ko siya. For the passed years, Loki grow more manly and fine man. His Italian feature screams so much. I guess his father is extremely handsome for him to have that looks too. Maayos na nakaparte ang itim niyang clean cut na buhok.

"You ready?" His manly scent soothes at my nose.

Lumipat ang tingin ko sa akin repleksyon sa malaking salamin. One sighed and I faced him. Our gown and tux are almost have the same design and color. I wonder if he did it with purpose.

"Bring on the fire." I said and he chuckled.

A limousine was parked outside our house. I was holding Loki's arm as we grace our way to the Limousine. Nakita si Lucy at tulad ko ay nakasuot din siya ng evening gown. The years changed Lucy. She become more mature and her mistakes thought her to be a woman with principles. Also for tonight, she wore a silky champange evening gown. Sumakay din siya sa Limousine kung nasaan kami ni Loki.

"Si Dad at... Claudia?" I asked.

Lucy's almond eyes looked at me. "They're already at the party. By the way, are you sure about this? You're... I mean, he is there, Tyra."

Nag - iwas ako ng tingin sa kanya. Nagkunwari akong tumitingin sa nadadaanan naming kabahayan. "It's been three years. I don't think he is still bitter about the past."

"I doubt that. I heard a news about him. Well yeah, he is doing better. He is successful in his studies but he never been in a relationship after you..."

Mariin akong pumikit. "Let's enjoy the party and leave everything in the past. The most important thing right now is the present and the future. Kung ano man ang nangyari noon, I guess it happened for a better reason."

Sumulyap si Loki sa amin. He was talking someone at the phone but I doubt he don't overheard our conversation. I shrugged. Matapos ang ilang minuto, nakarating kami sa malaking gusali. The Limousine parked infront. Agad napatingin sa amin ang ilang media. Some were flashing their cameras. The security guards immediately blocked them from coming to us.

Naunang lumabas si Loki at pinagbuksan kami ni Lucy. Lucy go out with chin up and poise. May lumapit sa kanya media at siyang kinausap. Meanwhile, Loki held his hands to me which I nonchalantly reached. When stilettos landed on the red carpet, series of camera flaunt into me. Nilagay ni Loki ang kamay ko sa balikat niya.

"Miss Tyra, how's life in Malta?"

"Totoo bang rumored boyfriend mo si Niccolo Gazzari?" I almost stopped to answer but then I snob her.

"Miss Ignacio, I heard that your engagement with Zachary Constantine Imperial has been canceled because you are seen with Grayson Cevallos. Is it true that Grayson Cevallos is a third party?"

Sinipat ko iyong nagtanong. Damn it. Hindi pa rin talaga tapos ang mga tao sa tsismis na 'yan. Loki pulled me away from them before I could answer. Huminga ako ng malalim at pinakalma ang sarili. We graced the entrance and I saw some familiar faces.
