Kathleen Vos had been skating since she could walk. Her family was really big hockey fanatics. Her father wanted three boys, so he could make them into scholar-earning hockey players, but instead he got a girl.
Kathleen's mother, had gone through a life-threatening birth with Kathleen which almost caused both of their life's. Kathleen's mother and father both agreed not to have any more children which ruined her father's dream of the scholar hockey players.
Mr. Vos taught Kathleen how to skate, but when she became of age to join a hockey team, Mr. Vos wouldn't let Kathleen join. He was scared that his little girl would get hurt. Kathleen minded a lot since all of her close friends were on the Ducks.
When she was seven, she pleaded to tryout for the Ducks, her father refused, and she got mad. Kathleen ended up at the other part of town at an ice rink. She decided that this would be her place to learn how to play.
That's where she met Gordon Bombay. At first he was opposed to the idea of Kathleen skating there, but then agreed to teach her how to play.
Almost every day since she was seven she would head after school to get lessons from Bombay. She became an excellent hockey player who couldn't even be on a team.
That was until the boy who she has had a crush on since kindergarten got cut from the Ducks.
