the sleepover.

(I know I made Evan and Kathleen kiss earlier in the book than probably expected but that's because I needed to get some drama in)

Evan woke up the next week feeling upset. He had kissed Kathleen last night out of boldness, and it was something he wanted to do since she joined the team. Kiss those soft lips she has. He was right, they were soft and warm. He then started to ponder if she had kissed anyone before, maybe Logan? He hoped not.

That's when his mind crossed Sofi... oh shit. If he were start dating Kathleen she'd be livid. Maybe he could, and not tell Sofi? No, that wouldn't work.

He picked up his phone, maybe expecting a text from Kathleen, but nothing. He did get one from Sofi though. 'Good morning :)'

He decided to just head to practice which was kind of a off day since it was a Friday. Kathleen couldn't come because her grandmother was down and wanted to see her, so she skipped school and practice today, and her grandmother was leaving today.

As Evan was in deep thought about Sofi and Kathleen when Nick spoke up. "That was a fun movie this past weekend, right?"

"Oh yeah it was." Evan said. It definitely was fun for him since he kissed his crush. "Remember when we both reached for the popcorn at the same time and we laughed and that scary dad shushed us?"

Evan remember, he also remember when he did the same thing with Kathleen which led to him kissing her. "Yeah totally."

"So, uhm, I wondering if maybe you'd wanna sleepover tonight?" Nick asked him. "If not it's totally cool. No pressure. I mean, sleep whatever you want dude. Kat will also be back tonight, but she'll just stay in her room though."

"Sure, sounds good." Evan tells Nick. Evan really wanted to see Kathleen especially since he has hardly seen her due to her grandmother being down all week.

"Hey Koob, you alright?" Evan stands up to start walking over towards him. "I'm the same, why?"

"Well you know, you didn't come to the movies with us, and you kinda hang by yourself here." Evan asks him, and Koob starts going into how he is the worst on the team, and how he lets everyone down.

"Hey, you're not disappointing anybody." Evan tells Koob. He then walks over to Nick who was still sitting in the locker room. "Hey, would it be cool if we invited Koob to come to the sleepover with us? I think it would be good for him."

"Yeah, I'd love to, but I only have the one trundle, so not really sure how that would work." Evan started smiling wider at Nick until he gives in. "Fine, I'll ask Kat if she has a sleeping bag or something."

Nick decided to text Kat about the two guys who were coming over tonight, so she wasn't totally surprised about the two boys coming.

Nick

Hey, Evan and Koob are coming for sleepover tonight.
Have sleeping bag we can use?

Kathleen heart dropped when she saw that Evan was coming. She had hardly seen Evan since the movies that night. She pulled out the sleeping bag she had from her room, and took it over to Nick's for the boys to use tonight. When she got there, Nick's moms weren't home, so she just let herself in.

"Nick! You here?" Kat called out to the boy which was followed by "yeah! In my room."

Kathleen headed upstairs, and into Nick's room to see Nick, Evan, and Koob. "Hey.. guys."

"Hey Kat!" Nick stands up to retrieve the sleeping back from her. "Thank you for this." Kathleen saw that Evan was staring right at her. His hair was sort-of messy since it was gelled as if usually was.

"Okay Kat, you can now get out this is a boys-only sleepover." Nick snaps her out of her stare. She laughs. "What is this? Some Heman Woman Haters meeting?"

The boys stared at her, and she giggled. "I'm joking, I'll go now."

Evan really didn't want Kathleen to go. She wasn't his girlfriend though, and it would be weird if he asked her to stay in front of Nick and Koob.

Kathleen planned on just being content by watching her phone all night, but that's when Nick's moms came in and asked for her phone. They suggested that she go hangout with Nick and his friends.

"Hey, guess I'm hanging out with you three now." Kathleen walks into Nicks room to see Koob in shock about his phone being gone.

Kathleen walked over to sit between Evan and Nick as they stared at Koob. Kathleen felt something hit her hand. She looked down to see Evan was trying to slip her a piece of paper.

Nick and Evan got up, and started to talk to Koob about his life. Kathleen opened the paper up, and it read 'we need to talk. 11 pm, your room.'

As she looked up from the paper, she gave him a quick nod, and walked over to the them as they started to conspired a plan for 'operation get Koob's phone back.'

Koob ended up singing for Nick's moms, beautifully, and the phones were retrieve. Kathleen went back to her room for the night, then she heard a slight knock on her door. She looked at the clock, 11:00. She got up, and opened the door to see Evan.

"Uhm- I wanted to talk about what happened at the movies." He starts off, Kathleen nods. "I really liked it, I actually liked it a lot. It gave me- actually I don't need to bring that up, but I wanted to take it a bit slow, so uhm want to get pizza on Monday?"

"Is the Evan Morrow, the one who rejected infront of the whole school asking me, crazy Kat, on a date?" Kathleen joked and Evan rolled his eyes as he leaned against the doorframe.
"I'd love to Evan."

He smiled, and was about to leave for the night when he turned around to face Kathleen. "Also, one more request, Sofi can't know about us."
