embarassment, huh?

Maya and Kathleen sat in Kat's room at the Ganz's house as Kathleen packed her belongings since her parents would return in a week. Maya was making tiktoks and posting them.

"You excited for practice?" Maya questions Kat who was packing her shirts up in a box. Kat shrugs as she moves over to her bed.

"It's just with Sofi joining the team, and with Evan, and then Logan, I don't even want to go." Kat groaned. Maya popped the gum she was chewing and then sat over next to Kat.

"Look, we are here to play hockey, who cares about Sofi, or Evan, or even Logan, let's go have fun." Maya tells Kat who gives her a half smile.

Kathleen had basically taken the whole week off to herself as she waits for the arrival of her parents being back, and just taking a mental health break.

"The Ducks are supposed to have their huge reunion this weekend, I heard that the OG Ducks are going to be there," Maya told Kathleen as she was typing on her phone. Maya probably saw the post that was on the Ducks Instagram page, so 2021.

The Don't Bothers had been in a high recently as they won their first game, thanks to Evan's aggression that came out of basically no where. As the girls walked to their first day back at practice, Kathleen thought about Logan.

"Do you think Logan will ever forgive me?" Kathleen questioned Maya who rolled her eyes. "Kat, if anything you should be the one forgiving Logan, you did nothing wrong, girl," Kathleen just shrugged, and went back into her thoughts.

"Hey, is that Bombay's truck?" Maya pointed out as they saw it stopped at the construction site, the watched as he got out, angrily. Kathleen and Maya both started heading towards him.

"Coach," Kathleen ran up to him before he could say anything rude to the construction worked, Mr. Fulton, that Kathleen knew since they started construction on that part of town. "Mr. Fulton didn't mean anything by that, please don't get mad,"

"Coach?" Fulton questioned as he looked down at Kathleen and Maya, and then back up at Bombay. "Coach Bombay?" Fulton took off his construction glasses.

"It's Fulton, Number 44, Fulton Reed," Kathleen stared oddly between the two. She was guessing Mr. Fulton had be apart of the original Ducks. The two embraced into a hug, and Bombay cracks a joke about smashing his window. Fulton proceeds to tell Bombay about the Ducks Gala, and if he will be there. Maya and Kathleen looked at each other, and then back at the adults.

"Ducks fly together. I wouldn't miss it. Kat, Maya, you two can ride with me to practice. Hop in the truck."  The two girls hopped into the truck, and when they got there they were celebrating and watching their last game. Maya looked sympathetically over to Kathleen, and then walked over to Logan where he was making candy pancakes. Kathleen sat at a table alone, and looked over at Sofi who had her eyes glued on the screen. Maybe she had changed since sixth grade?

Kathleen picked up her stuff, and headed into the locker room where she saw Evan getting his stuff on. He looked up and smiled at her with that wonderful smile he has had since they have met each other.

"Kat, where is everyone?" He questioned her as she proceeded to put on her hockey gear. "Oh, outside celebrating the win," Kathleen responded, and then once Evan was finish gearing up, he stormed out of the locker room leaving Kathleen alone. Kathleen walked out to see the whole team laughing their butts off at Evan.

"What's going on?" Kathleen giggled as she sided with Maya. "Evan really thinks we are going to states," Kathleen giggled a little more as she looked over at Evan who had the look of embarrassment and sadness on his face.

Evan rolled his eyes, and left to go out on the ice to practice as the rest of them continued to celebrate. Maya nudged Kathleen as she watching Evan skate out on the ice. "Go on,"

Kathleen inhaled as she got up to head down on the ice. She laced up her skates, and skated out to Evan where he was doing drills on his own.

"Now you know what it feels like to get laugh it," Kathleen smiles at Evan who rolls his eyes, playfully, and gives her a half smile in return. "Evan, about the offer, I think we should at least wait for the season to be over before we officially start anything, y'know?"

Evan looked up at her and nodded as she continued on with the drills. As Kathleen sat there she felt a ping of embarrassment as she left to go back to hangout with Maya again. When Kathleen got back up, and dressed again she turned back on the ice to see no Evan there, just civilians skating.

Kathleen and Maya were munching and laughing over pancakes and re-enjoying their win when Sofi came over to the girls. Maya and Kathleen looked up at her as they were wondering what she wanted.

"Look," Sher shoved her phone into their faces as they watched the video that was posted on Instagram. It was Evan at the Ducks rink, as he was practicing with them. Maya and Kathleen looked at each other with confused looks on their face and then looked back to Sofi.

"That little traitor," Sofi sits down as she complains to the girls. "Hell, I leave the team for him, and now he's back on the Ducks?" Sofi looks at Kathleen for some sympathy. Kathleen just nods as she agrees with her ex-bestfriend. Kathleen thought about it, she would be pretty pissed if she left the team for someone only for them to join the team that you left.

The next day at school, Evan made an excuse to throw out his water bottle. Kathleen eyes him carefully as he was talking to Trevor and his sister. She nudged Maya, not wanting to grab the attention of the rest of the group.

"Let him dig his own grave, Kat, Let him dig it,"
