When he was sure that Scarface had long since passed hearing limits, Wei Wuxian looked up at Lan Wangji. "A-Zhan?"

"Mn?" Wei Ying could easily hear the soundless sobs that choked the one syllable that left his husband's mouth.

"A-Zhan, I'm fine. You know well enough that my margins of pain are very high. I'm good, really. We should get you out of here."

"Us," Lan Zhan said with a sniff.

Wei Wuxian smiled. "Yes, us. Hm..." He couldn't even tap his nose while thinking thanks to the thin rope and heavy iron chains. Biting his cheek in concentration, Wei Wuxian watched the alternative exit. The one he entered from was busy with the battle outside so it was best to use the other one. Problem was, was it an exit at all? What if it lead deeper into the hill? What if it trapped them? No, he couldn't take the risk, not with his husband bleeding to death.

He'd have to focus on drawing another teleportation talisman. Tch! Even if he spent all his spiritual energy on it, how was he to draw it onto the talisman? He'd have to find a way to get rid of the ropes first.

Wei Wuxian watched his silent husband equally silently. Lan Zhan stared at his dearest

"Lan Zhan, how could you possibly let yourself get caught?"

"My mind was elsewhere. Didn't hear them coming."

"Huh? Ha! Were you thinking of me? Missed your bunny?" Wei Wuxian grinned at his husband. Lan Zhan looked away, reddening under the blood-stained face. While Wei Wuxian chuckled at his darling's dreamy mind, Lan Zhan wondered.

How did he get here? Did Xiongzhang tell? No. Xiongzhang wouldn't. But now what? Lan Zhan could have born the torture alone, but now to watch his A-Ying being tortured too? And there was nothing he could do. Both Bichen and Chenqing and Wei Ying's whistling ability were all taken by the Rebel Leader. Nonetheless, Lan Zhan was grateful that this man had forgotten to seal Wei Ying's spiritual energy like he did to him. Maybe he could do something. For the first time, Lan Zhan was forced to watch while Wei Ying did the work. He just had to trust A-Ying.

Wei Wuxian on the other hand, suddenly had a feeling that the war outside had ended. The room was somehow sound-proofed, such that neither could Wei Wuxian hear what was going on outside, nor would he be heard if he screamed. And now he couldn't even whistle. No, I must try.

Wei Wuxian puckered his lips and blew. But the instant the cold air raced over the tender skin of his tongue, he pursed his lips and hissed. The pain was... epic. So this man knew his tricks of torture. Not bad. Wei Wuxian sighed, then grinned. Scarface could be good at injuring and chaining, but there was none better than his own husband who was excellent at tying. And hence, none to beat the experienced Yiling Patriarch when it came to loosening a rope!

One, two, three. Four, five, six. Slowly, gradually, the rope tied around Wei Wuxian's wrists became looser and looser, until they finally dropped to the floor. Hearing the soft thud, Lan Zhan lifted his head to see a wheat-yellow rope lying on the floor behind Wei Wuxian's feet. He looked at Wei Ying with inquiring, round eyes.

Wei Wuxian laughed. "A-Zhan, did you forget? You're the best at tying me up? So of course, I'm the best at untying myself!" Wei Wuxian continued to laugh.

Lan Zhan grinned and crimsoned. Even in a situation like this, Wei Ying knew how to make him smile. This man... really was his man.

Bringing his middle finger and thumb together, Wei Wuxian snapped his fingers. In a flash, a beauty in red stood before him.

"Master? What happened to you? They dared to chain you? Shall I kill him?"

"No! I have a better gift for him. Anyways, for the moment, tell me the situation outside?"
