[JUNE 2022, JAPAN]

The man entered the café, hoping he wasn't too late.

Behind his sunglasses, he searched for her into the room and spotted directly her long black hair tied into two longs pig tails, falling almost in the middle of her back, her style was also so recognizable. Black jeans and a black and white tartan plaid jacket, even if we were in the middle of the summer.

"You ready?" Asked the boy, a smirk spread onto his lips as he was ready to sit down, his hand laid down flat on the table.

"I guess." She shrugged her shoulders casually, her legs crossed under the table.

"You're going to open the volleyball championship of 2023." He widened his eyes on purpose, hoping for an amazing reaction from his friend sitting dumbfounded in front of him.

"What?" The boy slammed his hand over the table.

"Just what? Awh! Girl c'me on i was so excited-"

"Atsumu? You're telling me I'm gonna sing for the opening of the championship?" She leaned over the table, her pale eyes starting to get bigger and bigger at the thought.

"Yup, you heard me." Replied Atsumu proudly, closing his eyes.

"What the hell did you do?"

"Oh nothing I swear! I just sent your song, nothing more!" He laughed. "But you're already the one and only chosen one!"

"No way?"

"I swear! Listen, I just wanted to tell you this shit cause that's fucking fire but I need to go!"

"Atsu-" She hadn't finished that he was already long lost into Tokyo's streets.

She couldn't believe it, performing in front of thousands of people wasn't her dream but she was going to make something unforgettable. She smiled brightly, covering her lips with the back of her hands shyly.

Tsumu
I left something
Maybe I thought you'd b happy 2 see it
3:59pm

"What the.." She lifted her eyes to the table, scanning the magazine apparently left by the boy earlier. Her furrowed brows softened after a few seconds of staring at the two pages.

On the first page she could see herself a few months ago, looking down to something, more like someone with one of those sweet smile, a certain jacket resting on her shoulder and on the second page, he was looking up to something, more like someone with a bright and proud smile. She remembered this scene, when he scored a beautiful point and directly searched for her eyes into the crowds.

"Kiyoomi." She said quietly under her breath, her eyes scanning his face without any emotions appearing on her own face. She slowly closed the magazine, shoved it in her bag before and left money on the table before exiting the cafe.

It was supposed to get better with the time.
That's what they all told me, when he left.
Everything's gonna be fine.

She shakily extended her arm, pressing the little red button on the remote and staring at the little red light turning green, the screen lighting on a second after.

Am i scared?

She slowly pressed each numbers.

2,9,4
Am i that scared?

Her heart was beating way too fast, as fast as he did many months ago when her gaze met his in the train.

The same stern and serious look he had when he was furrowing his brows, resembling each ounce of concentration in his body before his famous and powerful serve. The muscles of his shoulders flexed softly under his orange jersey as he threw the ball in the air, starting to run, gaining momentum for his high jump.

He was so tanned, he looked a little taller than the last time she was him. His arms and his thighs seemed to be bigger from all the muscles he gained from his hard training.

Shinju fell like tearing apart, as if something or someone was reaching her chest and ripping her little heart out, as the TV shown a slow motion of his winning service, showing clearly his illuminated face. The way he glanced at the camera, a bright smile on his face as he realized he made his team win the game.

She fell on the ground, her knees hitting roughly the carpet of her dark living room, her face stained with tears only lighted by the changing light of the screen of the large TV.

"O-Omii.." She muffled behind her hands, covering her mouth as her eyes widened at the sight.

She couldn't help but look at his veins popping out of his big arms, his fingers were all red and scratched from his own power as he raised his hand,

Showing distinctively his little fingers,

Shaking it slightly it front of the camera.

"When I'll score a point on my team, I'll do this now, I'll dedicate each of my fucking points to you." He smiled softly, shaking his pinky in the air.
