Chapter 3: The Squidbeak Splatoon

Sonic, Tails, Amy, and Knuckles came out of the other side of the manhole as they saw they were in a weird place. They then spot the Inkling girl and old man facing away from them. They ran for cover to avoid being seen.

"Th-th-the-! Th-the Oc- Oc- Oc-... The Octarians are coming!" The old man said as he turned around facing the Inkling girl. "Ahh!"

"Whoa!" The Inkling girl said.

"I'm sorry, I lost my cool for a moment there." The old man said. "I'm Cap'n Cuttlefish, leader of the legendary Squidbeak Splatoon!"

"That look in your eyes... I've been waiting for a young 'un like you." Cap'n Cuttlefish continued.

"Okay..." The Inkling girl said.

"The Great Zapfish that powers Inkopolis has vanished!" Cap'n Cuttlefish said.

"I saw the news." The Inkling girl responded. "I know."

"And though nobody will believe me, it's the work of Octarians." Cap'n Cuttlefish said.

"Sounds like it." The Inkling girl said.

Sonic and the others heard from their conversation as they were shocked to hear what's going on.

"They're after revenge for their defeat in the war 100 years ago!" Cap'n Cuttlefish explained.

"Okay..." The Inkling girl said.

"I was keeping a watchful eye on them myself, of course..." Cap'n Cuttlefish continued. "But they stole the Great Zapfish from right under my nose!"

"Sounds awful." The Inkling girl said.

"Please! You must help me recover the Great Zapfish!" Cap'n Cuttlefish pleaded.

"Yes, of course I'll help!" The Inkling girl said agreeing to help.

"Oh, thank you! Starting today, you are Agent 3 of the New Squidbeak Splatoon." Cap'n Cuttlefish said as he handed the Inkling girl a set of Squidbeak gear. "Take this special Hero suit - It will help you withstand their ink!"

The Inkling girl was now known as Agent 3. She now wears a black long sleeve shirt with a yellow vest, black headphones, and black sneakers with yellow and blue. Her weapon was a black, yellow, and blue hero shot.

"What a perfect fit! (Not too bad for a hand me down from Agents 1 and 2...)" Cap'n Cuttlefish said. "Now, let's go beat those nasty Octarians! I'm counting on you!"

Agent 3 went off as Cap'n Cuttlefish followed. Sonic and the others came out of hiding seeing the coast clear.

"All clear." Sonic whispered.

As they all came out Knuckles tripped over one of the trees Sonic and the others hid behind as he accidentally slammed his fist in the ground. Cap'n Cuttlefish and Agent 3 heard it as they went to check what happened.

"Hey! Who are you?!" Cap'n Cuttlefish said seeing Sonic and the others.

Agent 3 charged her Hero Shot and was about to attack, but recognized them from yesterday.

"Hey, that's Sonic, Amy, and Miles." Agent 3 said.

"You know them?" Cap'n Cuttlefish asked.

"Yeah. They're my friends. But I don't think I recognize the one with the red dreadlocks." Agent 3 said.

"I'm a friend of Sonic's. The name's Knuckles." He introduced himself.

"How can we be sure to trust you?" Cap'n Cuttlefish said.
