Aftermath: Knuckles X Callie

"So your telling me that you decided it would be fine to leave me behind, to risk your life, and possibly DIE, without saying a word to me?" Callie fussed at him.

"I didn't have a choice. But you're taking this relatively well-"

Callie slapped Knuckles in the face interrupting his sentence.

"I was worried sick! When Marie told me we were headed back to Octo Valley and told me you were-" Callie took a breath.

"Well technically you scared me until I spoke-" Knuckles was interrupted again.

"QUIET!" Callie yelled. "I thought you were gonna die!" Her eyes teared up as she remembered all her fears. She wrapped her arms around him, not letting him go.

"I had to leave you behind." Knuckles said. "I had to protect you from what was gonna happen." He put his arms around her as they hugged.

After Callie finished crying, she let go of him.

"Just promise you'll at least tell me next time, OK?" Callie said.

"I promise I'll tell you next time I'm going somewhere." Knuckles responded.

"Okay." She said calming down.

"Well, I think Knuckles owes us some food since it was his friends idea for him to go save Inkopolis." Marie said.

"Wait, what?" Knuckles was confused. "I didn't have a choice!"

"Mmm, that's not what I recall..."

Knuckles and Marie were arguing as Callie started laughing.

While everyone was relaxing in Inkopolis, Cap'n Cuttlefish was polishing the snow-globe that Octavio was trapped in.

"You and your company will rue the day you beat me and the Doctor!" Octavio said.

"Dream on fellow." Cap'n Cuttlefish said.

Agent 3 came back to Octo Valley to check on Cap'n Cuttlefish.

"Ah, Agent 3! I've been waiting for you. Thanks to you and the others, peace has returned to Inkopolis! Not that anyone will be thanking us for it... But that's how heroes are. Unappreciated in their lifetime." Cap'n Cuttlefish said to Agent 3.

"Isn't that who we just fought?" Agent 3 asked pointing to Octavio.

"...Hmm? This fellow? Why this is none other than DJ Octavio!" He responded. "I think I'll let him rest here for a while. He's been through a lot..."

"Gghhh... Cuttlefish... I'm hungry!" Octavio said to Cap'n Cuttlefish.

"...Hohoh... Agent 3...that gleam in your eyes seems even stronger now. You have me eternal gratitude." Cap'n Cuttlefish said congratulating Agent 3.

"Thank you." Agent 3 thanked him.

(Back in Inkopolis...)

"Come on Knuckles!" Callie said excited.

"It's a little hard to keep up." Knuckles said as he was running behind her trying to keep up.

"How do you and your friends be able to keep up in defeating Octavio but can't keep with us?" Marie asked.

"He was hard to fight with Eggman at his side okay?" Knuckles responded

"Whatever." Marie shrugged.

"Marie, stop trying to steal my boyfriend!" Callie said.

"Well, technically you two aren't officially dating, so I'm not really stealing him..." Marie said.
