Double Genius

Artemis,Superboy,M'gann and Kaldur were all in the common room of Mount Justic,each of them busy with their own things when the zeta tubes announced the arrival of Kid Flash and Robin whom seemed to be in a heated discussion about something the other team members didn't know about. However, they were interested because Wally and Robin never talked this seriously with each other except on missions and even then they seemed laid back.

They were also surprised to see that neither Robin nor Wally payed them any attention, instead both of them sat at the table in the kitchen and took some pretty heavy textbooks out of their bags which the other team members now realized. Robin's was black with a lot of numbers and math symbols written in white over it and Wally's was the same except the design was in science symbols (this probably sounds really stupid but I don't know it was the first thing that came to my mind).

Artemis finally broke the weird silence, "Hey Baywatch,I didn't know you could read,much less be serious." Everyone except Robin were waiting a comeback from Wally because he would never miss a chance to fight with Artemis but they were all surprised when all Wally did was nod and mutter something that sounded suspiciously like a "ha ha". But that was the only response they could get from him.

Several hours passed  and the speedster and ninja satyed rooted to their spots. They never took breaks and by midnight when they had studied for 10 hours, M'gann decided to intervene:

"Robin,Wally don't you think you've studied enough, also shouldn't you have been at your homes earlier than tihs? I thought most teenagers on Earth had to be at home before 10 but it's already past midnight."

When they heard this Robin and Wally seemed to awaken because in a matter of seconds they were all packed and ready to go  but their teammates wouldn't let them go so easily.

"Wait,wait,wait what were you to studying so hard for? I never even knew the both of you could be serious." the blonde archer asked and thankfully the boys decided to nswer.

"Well Wally here is  science genius and he has been invited to a very prestigious science fair, so he was doing research on his project." Robin said.

"And Robin here is a mathlete, and a certified genius I might add,probably one of the best in the world, and he is going to enter a math olympiad next week so he was studying for that." Wally said.

And with that the two boys left leaving a dumbfounded team behind. They had always thoguht that tohse two were a bit childish and never had they expected them to be so serious, much less be geniuses.

That week passed with Robin and Wally coming to Mount Justice only for missions, which passed quietly now that the most talkative members were just trying to finish the mission quickly. And even when they had late night missions the two of them would find time to study. Once the team even saw them sit still for 15 hours completely focused on the book or in Wally's case the project in front of them. Sometimes they even forgot to eat,which was surprising since Wally was a speedster. Batman and thr Flash would constantly chech-k up on their young partners, Flash mostly bringing Wally food and Batman, well he would just sit next to Robin quietly, which somehow seemed to ease the birds stress.

Finally it was time for Robin's olympiad and Wally's science fair. The team didn't see their two members for a weekend and when they came back both had triumphant smiles on their faces indicating they had won.

After that life seemed to go back to normal, well as normla as it could be for a team of young heroes...
