Marinette had spent the previous day searching for cool facts about her school to make the tour more interesting. Had she come up with anything? Hardly. The only thing she had so far was that Adrien Agreste was a student there and that they had the best fencing team in all of Paris."Don't worry Marinette, I'm sure Cristina will have a great time! Plus, your parents are making a pastry box for her which will give you an opportunity to talk about the bakery!" Tikki said cheerfully.
Her kwami was right, she could use it as a way for Cristina to get to know Marinette as a friend. She let out a nervous sigh and smiled.
"You're right Tikki," she said optimistically, standing up and getting her backpack, she took one last look at herself in the mirror and smiled."You got this!" Tikki whispered encouragingly from her purse.
-
After grabbing the pastry box her parents had made for the new student, Marinette walked out. She was mentally rehearsing how to introduce herself.
For a split second her nerves took over her, what "awesome" lie would Lila make up? That she was daughter of a celebrity who had to stay back in America? That she had the chance to stay at the palace in Achoo? That she was best friends with a superhero?
Marinette stopped.Hello, I'm Marinette and I'm also Ladybug.
Now that would top anything Lila said. Marinette shook the idea off her head and frowned. She was too lost in thought that she didn't have time to stop before bumping into someone waiting for the crosswalk light to turn white."Oof, sorry!" She yelped, she quickly tightened her grip on the box but didn't have time to balance herself.
"Gotcha!" A familiar voice said as someone caught her in an awkward position.
A dark shade of red took over Marinette's face. She regained her balance fast and giggled nervously."H-hey Adrien! What are you doing here? Obviously not here as in here in Paris, because you live here which is why you're here right now, but more like what are you doing here as in this street?" She forced herself to stop talking and smiled awkwardly.
Adrien laughed, he was holding a round box with the initials G.A. on it. He bent down and picked up Marinette's purse, which she'd dropped but hadn't noticed.
"I kind of convinced my bodyguard to let me walk to school today."
He turned his head, Marinette followed his gaze and saw his black car parked in front of the school. His bodyguard was inside, a calm expression on his face.
Marinette giggled softly. "Ah, so hence the 'kind of', huh?""What's that?" Adrien asked pointing at the box.
"It's for Cristina, it's a pastry box, it has macaroons, éclairs, croissants," she said trailing off as she got lost in his green eyes.
"Marinette?"
"Yes?!" She snapped out of it straightening up.
"We can cross now," he said smiling.
"Oh right," she replied sighing.Once they got to school, Marinette noticed Adrien still had her purse.
"Um," she said as she shyly pointed at it.
Adrien raised his eyebrows, he carefully hung it around her shoulder and smiled. "See you in class."
"You're amazing..." she whispered goofily, "I mean yeah! See you there... too! Toilet... Right now," she said giving him a thumbs up and running away to the restrooms.Marinette shut herself in a stall and dropped her head against the door. "Lame, lame, lame." She groaned.
"Marinette?" Tikki asked.
She sighed and smiled softly, "I'm okay."-
Mr. Damocles was already in the classroom, Lila and Adrien were standing next to him.
"Very well students, Cristina will be arriving shortly before lunch," he said to everyone, then he turned to Adrien and Lila, "since you both will be giving her the tour of the school, you will also be her lunch partners for the rest of the week."
