When Adrien arrived home from school, his father was waiting for him at the top of the stairs, his hands behind his back.
"I heard one of your classmates was akumatised today, Adrien... again," he said, an odd edge to his voice. His eyes looked somewhat worried and Adrien almost smiled as he felt his father care for him, though it only lasted a few seconds, "Dupont is becoming more and more dangerous. I wanted to let you know that I will be reconsidering homeschool with Nathalie."
"But father-" Adrien started but he was cut off by Gabriel's cold stare.
"Take him to his room," his father said to his bodyguard, who grunted and put a hand on his son's shoulder. He softly steered him in the direction of his room.
His blonde head hung low as he climbed the stairs. Closing the door behind him, he felt tears burning in his eyes, but he wouldn't let them come out. He passed his hand through his face and sat on his couch looking out the window, he desperately wished for it to be nighttime.
The thought of Ladybug calmed him down. Her smile, her bravery, her laugh, her stubbornness.
"Ah, I know that smile all too well," Plagg said as he went to his cheese cabinet. "I smile that way whenever I remember I have many, many pieces of camembert waiting for me here."
"Not thinking of cheese, Plagg," Adrien said with a small smile.
"No. But you are thinking of Laaadybug," he teased as he sat beside him.
Adrien's smile vanished as he shook his head. "I wonder what she wants to talk about, it seemed urgent."
Plagg only shrugged and went back to complimenting his cheese.
Adrien immediately got lost in thought. He still had questions about what'd happened at their battle against Evillustrator today. The girl. The images... no, flashbacks he'd seen. The feelings. He looked back at Plagg who'd been listing the reasons he loved Camembert to himself but was now staring into nothingness.
"Plagg?" He didn't answer. "Plagg!"
His kwami turned to look at him, "yeah?"
"Are you okay?" Adrien asked worriedly.
"Yeah! I'm okay, I- I was just thinking of other adjectives to describe this beauty with," he said taking a bite of his piece of camembert.
Adrien didn't think much of it, he laid back and waited for nighttime to come so he could finally see his lady.
-The sun was setting, the sky was painted in different shades of yellow, orange, and pink. A chilly breeze blew across Paris. Marinette leaned against the balcony's railing, lost in thought. She had been debating whether she should pay Master Fu a visit or wait until she told Cat Noir about the girl.
"It's making me anxious, Tikki," Marinette said as she stared at the Eiffel Tower, the place she'd be meeting Cat Noir at later. "Do you think Master Fu knows?"
Her kwami hummed. "It's your choice Marinette." Tikki knew she wanted to go to the Guardian's place to talk to him.
Taking a deep breath, Marinette climbed down to her room, grabbed a jacket and a pink beanie and then made her way down to the bakery.
"Mom, dad? I forgot my purse at school and Alya has it, do you mind if I go get it?" Marinette asked her parents.
Sabine and Tom stared down at her in confusion.
Marinette looked down and noticed her purse was hanging across her body.
"Uh- Did I say purse? I meant phone! I forgot my phone at school, and Alya has it!" A nervous laugh escaping her.
