Jennie's POV
I immediately rushed to the infirmary but to my disappointment, she was no longer there when I arrived.
"She left," the nurse said when I asked her about Jisoo. "She said she still had to do something."
What can an injured person possibly think of doing? I made my way to the parking lot, checking on the locker room, the library, and the lab as I go. I gave up searching for her in the university, thinking she might've went home. I was walking through the cars when a very familiar one parked not far from where I was standing. Luck is on my side today.
"Chu!" I called the moment she got off her car. She looked at my direction, a little surprised but it didn't take long for her to flash a smile.
"Oh, Hi Jen!" She greeted lively as I approached her. Why isn't she mad at me? "You're right on time!"
"Huh?" She took a step back and opened the door to the backseat, taking a paper bag out. She reached inside the bag, pulling out a cup of milk ice cream, my favorite brand as well.
"Here." She handed me the ice cream, smiling as if nothing happened a few hours ago. "It may not solve your problems but it can at least satisfy your taste buds. That is step one to feeling better."
She pulled me to the garden where we sat on a bench in peace. I was happily eating my ice cream when she handed me a small soft ball.
"It's a stress ball," she said. "It can help whenever you're frustrated or stressed. Plus, it's cute and small so you can take it with you everywhere."
I looked at her in awe, touched by her yet again, sweet gesture, despite me pushing her away every time.
"Why are you so nice to me?" I couldn't help not to ask as we looked into each other's eyes. "You always tolerate me, care for me, and even let my family live in your house. Why? Why are you doing this?"
"Do I need a reason to be nice?" She shrugged, not breaking our eye contact.
"No, but you have every reason to be mad at me. I rejected you, pushed you away, hurt you countless times so why? Why can't you be mad at me for once?"
"Because I love you, Jennie. I don't have the strength to fight my feelings for you and I can't stand seeing you hurt or upset. If that doesn't answer your question, I don't know what will." Her voice was deep, soft and comforting. Her gaze was gentle and loving. It makes me wonder why I rejected her before but then again, it's useless to think back to the past.
"I'm not worth it, Chu," I said, finally breaking our eye contact, and looked down. "I'm not worth your affection."
"Rejecting me was you choice, Jen. But loving you is mine."
There was a moment of silence between us but it wasn't awkward or dull. It was comforting and relaxing for some reason. We were both staring at the blue sky, letting our minds astray as we inhaled the cold breeze in the garden.

Jisoo's POV
It was dinner time. I was busy with some paper works for our company when Mrs. Kim came to drag me to eat dinner with them.
"Here, sweetie." Mrs. Kim placed a piece of meat on my plate and I thanked her, of course. "Eat more. You look so thin."
"So, how was your day, girls?" Mr. Kim asked sweetly before sipping on his glass of wine.
"It was great, Mr. Kim," I answered politely making him chuckle.
"Drop the honorifics, Jisoo," he said. "We live in your house and all and yet you still call me 'Mr. Kim'. You can call me Dad or Uncle, whatever you're comfortable with."
