"Open the door!" Pixal shouted.
"Jay, don't do it!" Zane exclaimed.
"Jay, it's too dangerous!" Lloyd yelled.
It didn't matter what they said or tried to do, it was too late. And what made it worse was that they couldn't even see into the room. They didn't know if Jay would be okay or not.
The sound of his friends calling his name in the background made him keep going. He was doing this for them. He was doing this for Nya.
He felt weaker, his head becoming light, and his heart beating quickly. Too quickly. But it still wasn't working. The amount of watts he was already trying to charge the battery with wasn't strong enough. If he used even more power, it would most definitely kill him. There wouldn't be any chance of him surviving. But he needed to try, right? Nothing would stop him now. It was too late to turn back.
He pushed on, using even more power than before. It hurt. It hurt so, so much. His heart was slowing down, his arms becoming tired. He felt like he was going to pass out any minute.
He barely had any strength left.
But yet... it still wasn't enough.
Zane pushed Lloyd out the way and grabbed the door handle, hoping to make a difference. He let go almost instantly when the lights above them suddenly switched on. A bright blue flash came from inside the room, confusing them all.
"Oh my..." Pixal stood back.
"He's doing it," Zane was shocked.
It may have brought back some of the power but no matter what Jay tried, it still wasn't enough. He was already on the verge of collapsing, even more power would stop his heart altogether. But he'd do anything to save Nya. And as it was already starting to work, a little more power would bring the power back entirely.
But that meant death.
He loved Nya. He'd never loved anyone else. He would die for her any day of the year.
He used the last of his strength to give the battery the power it needed. His eyes shot open, a bright blinding blue, as he continued pushing on. He'd never been this powerful before. It was working. And with just one final push...
BANG
It was a stupid decision. He should've listened to his teammates when they told him not to do it. Sure he wasn't dead but he was still injured. But he didn't want to prove them right. He didn't want them to worry when there were more important things to be worrying about.
Now everything was okay, they were all back at the Monastery training like before. They eventually stopped Kalmaar and saved the day yet again. But there was one ninja that still wasn't feeling himself.
He had constant pain in his chest. It was a sharp pain that sometimes lasted a while, other times it lasted a few seconds. The worst part was trying to hide it from this friends especially during training and missions.
That wasn't his only injury.
He couldn't describe the pain he was in. He thought that recharging the battery was painful enough but he had no idea what it would cause him in the future. There wasn't even a moment in time where he was alright.
As soon as he opened the door to see his friends stood there with proud smiles, there was no way he could tell them the truth. He felt like collapsing. The electricity running through his veins was too much but he couldn't give up. They'd finally seen him just as strong as them and that's all he wanted. It's what he'd wanted for years. He couldn't take that moment away from himself.
