In the next few hours, they all headed home. The doctor explained to the team what he'd explained to Jay, making sure that he followed the rules. If he didn't, Jay could become even worse than he was.

As soon as they got home, Nya took Jay to his bedroom to lie down. The hospital made it very clear to them that he had to rest. No training. No missions. Jay hated it.

She helped her yin into bed, trying to cause him the least pain as possible. She put the sleeve of pills and a glass of water on his bedside table just in case he needed them (which was actually very likely).

"You are not going anywhere whilst I'm here," She gave him a warm smile.

Jay looked up at her with an apologetic look, "You don't need to look after me. I'm fine."

"You're not fine," She rolled her eyes, "You're injured. And you're also an idiot."

"Don't you think I've been telling myself that for weeks?" He chuckled.

"There's a reason we told you not to recharge the battery," She told him, pulling the duvet up to his chest.

"I couldn't sit there and wait for something to happen. For all I knew, you were in danger and needed help. We tried other ways to get the battery started again but nothing was working. I didn't have a choice," He replied.

"You did have a choice," She ran her fingers through his hair for a moment.

It was Jay's thing. He'd always risked his life to protect her. It was the promise he'd made all those years ago.

They spent all night afternoon planning their escape. They needed to get as far away from the evil djinn as they could. Somewhere no one would find them. That was difficult considering Nadakhan knew this world like the back of his hand by now. They needed to go somewhere that wasn't really on the map... Somewhere that wasn't obvious.

The Police Department was holding off the pirate crew as best they could but they were edging closer and closer to where Jay and Nya were hiding. They needed to leave now or they'd never get away.

The Commissioner opened the hatch in the corner of the room that led to a secret passageway below the station.

"Listen Jay," He spoke up quickly, "If Nadakhan finds and marries Nya, he'll have infinite wishes. Protect her."

Jay stepped forward, determination filling his entire mind and body, "I promise to, with my life."

It may have seemed quite exaggerated back then but he'd really meant it. And back then he had protected her. Even though that timeline was erased, he still wanted to protect her. He still kept his promise. Ever since then, he'd been there for her, he'd risked his entire life just for her.

Because of that one promise he'd made, he was in this mess. He could've died to help her.

And he still blamed himself for letting her go on that mission.

He'd spoken to her about it before and she didn't seem all that confident about it. She was worried of something bad happened whilst they were down there. So why had she been so desperate to go?

"I intended to build one for each of us but ran out of time," Pixal spoke worriedly, "I didn't even have time to fully test these suits."

Those words were what made him concerned. He observed them closely, thinking of all the things that could possibly go wrong. Pixal was an incredible mechanic and the things she built never went wrong except Jay couldn't shake the thought of his love being out there alone in an untested mech in the small possibility of something going wrong. It made him feel sick.
