Her name is Linda she has short white hair and brown eyes, she sat in her chair in front of the sun, but then got a call that blocked out the sun. They told her, she has cancer in her right lung, "you can get rid of it by chemo and radiation." So she scheduled her appointment. So she fights and fights to get rid of it , three months later her worst enemy was gone! We celebrate and celebrate for weeks to come.

On January 12 of 2015 she gets a call again they asked her to come in and see if it went away for good. But she came home with a sad and worried look on her face for she had found out that not only it came back, but it had brought it's friend with him named brain cancer. We cried and we cried for hours then Linda made a call and said "I want to start getting rid of these cancer friends starting tomorrow at 9:00 in the morning." So she goes in every day to get rid of this enemy.

February 25th while taking her nap in her favorite chair by the window with the sun shining on her, she sort of passed away so we sat there and prayed for the great Lord above to give her the strength to wake up again. She wakes up and we were all so very grateful that we still have Linda with us. She went in the next morning to get rid of it again and found out that the cancer friends have given up their fight and have ran away. She came home that day with a smile on her face so big that I will never forget. A smile so big it was prettier a rose on a hot summer day.

On June 15th of 2015 she passed away because of her COPD. We thank God for sending such a lovely woman and grandma like her to be in our family we will miss her tons, but we all know that she is watching us from above.

But still by far my grandma is the best hero of them all. I love you grandma.

A/N    Shout out to my amazing sister Sarah Avery for creating this poem. This poem is dedicated to our beautiful grandmother Linda Kay Carmichael. The song above is the song we dedicated to her at her memorial.
