Chapter 7: Strolling Around The Academy

  You and Kaito began your stroll around the academy just walking and chatting away and as you two were you forgot that there was a huge wall trapping you guys in here.
"So do you think you could teach me about chemistry?" Kaito asked.
"You're seriously interested in chemistry?" You asked a bit surprised.
"Yeah I mean it could help me in space." Kaito replied.
You gave him a confused look. "How?"

"What if there's an alien and that said alien asks me about chemistry stuff and the only way to survive is to give the correct answer? Then chemistry would totally save me." Kaito answered with a huge grin on his face. You looked at him and you started to laugh.
"Sure I'll help you so if that possibility occurs and aliens exist you can live." You smiled.
"I mean think about it Y/N  it's silly to think that humans are alone in this vast universe plus it's more exciting to think they're out there somewhere." Kaito said.
"You have a point.  Maybe one day humans will find aliens." You replied.
"Of course and I Kaito Luminary of the Stars will be the first human to ever come in contact with an alien!" Kaito declared and you smiled at his enthusiasm.
"But you know Kaede would make a great astronaut." Kaito commented.
"Oh? Is that so?" You asked.
"Yeah she's able to cooperate with people and lead them but she can go on her own sometimes so she has a lot to learn but I could make her my sidekick plus her creativity and artistic skills would be great when I open up a path in space and spread the culture on Earth across the universe!" Kaito declared.
You looked at him and raised your brow and scowled. 

"What's with that face?" He asked confused.
"Huh what face?" You asked.
"That scowl." Kaito pointed out.
"There's no scowl here you're seeing things." You lied trying to cover up the situation. "Any other skills it takes to be an astronaut?"
"Well the training I do is pretty intense but also I can speak Japanese, Russian, and English fluently and I had to learn the cultures too." Kaito proudly stated.
"Huh and here I thought you were just a one note guy." You murmured.
"Ouch." Kaito said scratching his head. "But Y/N what's your story why did you truly become a chemist?"
"Oh...that." You frowned playing with your pearl bracelet. "That's a...long story."
"You've saved so many lives I'm sure it's an interesting amazing story!" Kaito beamed.
"Sure actually doing the work that's fine and fun but I was studying chemistry since I was three and although I found it interesting I definitely never thought that I would be an Ultimate." You sighed.
"Shuichi said it was something to do with your mother's illness right?" Kaito asked.
"No that happened after I put all my time into it and that's how I cured her illness and also ten others by putting myself into my work but something happened that made me do that." You stated remembering everything.
"Oh was it a really traumatic situation?" Kaito frowned.
"Honestly looking back it was kind of dumb but to a younger me it felt as though the world was destroyed." You laughed.
"So what happened?" Kaito asked and you looked at him.
"That's a secret." You smiled.
"Ooooh a secret! I want to know!" A voice yelled. You and Kaito looked back not expecting to hear a voice and then you felt an arm wrap around your shoulder. You looked over to see a grinning Kokichi.
"What are you doing?" You asked.
"Oh I just overheard you and Kaito and I thought I'd join in on the conversation." Kokichi grinned.
"Man get off of her." Kaito sternly said and then removed Kokichi's arm from around you.
"Y/N wasn't complaining." Kokichi smirked.
"That's because she's too nice!" Kaito yelled.
"Neeheehee why are you getting so mad Kaito?" Kokichi asked.
"I'm not getting mad!" Kaito shouted.
"Y/NNNN Kaito is raising his voice at me." Kokichi frowned.
"I know I can hear him." You sighed glancing at the two. 

"I need to talk to you alooone." Kokichi said and before you could answer he dragged you by your arm pulling you away from Kaito.
"Where are you taking me?" You asked confused. "If you're going to kill me-"
  "Geez Y/N I'm not going to kill you...yet. I just wanted to see Kaito's reaction." Kokichi smiled.
"Wait did you say yet?" You suspiciously asked taking a small step away from him.
"Don't worry too much about it Y/N. Monokuma is gone anyways so there'd be no point in killing you." Kokichi remarked.
"So why did you want to see Kaito's reaction?" You asked confused.
"Oh no reason." Kokichi lied not looking at you.
"Are you lying?" You questioned folding your arms.
"There's just no reason to tell you. Silly silly Y/N." Kokichi teased bopping your nose.
"Kokichi! Don't touch her!" Kaito yelled running towards you and Kokichi.
"Why not?" Kokichi frowned.
"I need my personal space." You responded.
"And you didn't have any permission!" Kaito yelled and then pulled you next to him.
"You didn't get her permission." Kokichi pointed out.
"Eh I'll allow it." You shrugged.
"Wow favor the idiot Kaito." Kokichi rolled his eyes.
"He's not an idiot!" You defended glaring at Kokichi.
"Oooo that glare!" Kokichi teased.
"Bah let's just go Y/N. He's not worth spending time on." Kaito mumbled.
   "Come on Kaito you can't whisk her away like that." Kokichi laughed.
"Whisk her away?!" Kaito shouted.
"Yeah you take up all her time when she could spend her time with me." Kokichi said.
"She chooses to hang out with me!" Kaito retorted.

"I don't know why you seem lame." Kokichi insulted.
"Looks can be deceiving he's actually pretty cool." You grinned. "We're kind of like carbon and hydrogen." They both looked at you as if you had two heads.
"What does that even mean nerd?" Kokichi asked.
"You...wouldn't understand." You awkwardly laughed scratching your H/C hair.
"Are you sure you two just don't favor each other?" Kokichi grinned.
"What's that suppose to mean!?" Kaito shouted with a tinge of pink appearing on his face.
"Nothing nothing forget I said anything." Kokichi said.
"Come on Kaito." You said and the two of you began to walk until Kokichi pushed you into Kaito and you fell on top of him. You looked down to see Kaito and you immediately started to blush out of embarrassment.
"I'm so sorry!" You profusely apologized.
"It's not your fault it's Kokichi's." Kaito sighed and then pushed a piece of your H/C hair out of your face.
You looked over and saw Kokichi profusely laughing and then soon you saw Ryoma and Kirumi also snickering.
"Kokichi you are so dead!" You shouted gritting your teeth and giving him the evil eye.
"You're the one still on Kaito." Ryoma pointed out.
You turned back and realized that. Your eyes widened and you quickly got off.
"I'm sorry again!" You apologized and being embarrassed and a blushing mess you quickly got up and helped him.
"It's fine Y/N it was Kokichi's fault." Kaito sighed.
"Hey...maybe if it isn't too awkward we can continue our walk without them being around?" Kaito nervously asked blushing.
"Yeah yeah sure." You quickly agreed and walking side by side you two began walking.  After awhile of walking and chatting you saw Kaede and Shuichi.
    "Kaito do you mind if I take Y/N away for a bit? I'm not sure if you two are still hanging out." Kaede grinned.
"Nah its fine have fun spending some girl time together." Kaito grinned.
"Thanks Kaito." You and Kaede said in unison.

The pianist then took you away from Kaito and Shuichi and began talking.
"You know Y/N you're one of the few people I can call a friend here. We definitely need to have some girl time and get away from the boys for a bit." She giggled.
"That would be loads of fun." You smiled.
"So why was your face so red when you were walking with Kaito?" She asked.
"Oh ummm Kokichi pushed me on top of Kaito." You embarrassedly answered.
"Oh wow that would be so awkward." Kaede agreed.
"It was." You sighed.
"Do you have any crushes on anyone? Like Kokichi or Gonta maybe Korekiyo or...Kaito?" She asked smirking.
"Of course not!" You exclaimed. "We barely know anyone and in this situation that would be crazy. Why do you have a crush on someone?" You asked.
"Oh ummm why would I?" Kaede asked flustered.

"Seems like you do. Oh is it Kokichi?!" You teased.
"Obviously not! I don't have a crush on anyone." You pouted still blushing.
"Sounds like a lie to me." You giggled. "In fact I didn't see you or Shuichi outside at all. Where were you two? Is he your crush?"
"What! Sh-Shuichi and I we were in the...library." She blushed her face as red as a tomato.
"You two were in the library doing what?" You questioned.
"Nothing! Nothing at all!" She laughed.
You looked at her skeptically. "I know that's a lie."
Then you both heard the nighttime announcement.
"Nighttime already?" You frowned.
"Hey we can have a sleepover. There isn't a rule about that. Plus we could talk some more." Kaede beamed.
"Okay! Let's do it!" You agreed and you and Kaede headed to the dorms.
