Star Wars the Clone Wars One Shots

The One Where the 501st Almost Killed the Bad Batch Pt. 1

So this is an AU where Anakin doesn't turn and Ahsoka didn't leave, but the war is still going on and Ahsoka is still Anakin's Padawan. Bariss is also chill and doesn't bomb the Temple. 

Ahsoka's POV

" So Master, what squad are we going with to Ryloth?," I asked as we walked into the mess hall. " Clone Force 99, I've worked with them once before when we got Echo back from the Seppies," my Master said, grabbing a ration bar. I grabbed one too and followed him to a deserted table at the end of the mess hall. " What are they like?," I asked, curious to hear about a squad as successful as Clone Force 99. "Well, they're all different in a way. Echo, as you know, is part man, part machine-" "Full time sarcastic asshole," Fives finished, sitting down next to me. I grinned at him. He smiled back slightly before wincing slightly and rubbing the area were he was shot. 

I frowned gently. Fives had managed to alert us of the Chancellor in time, but he got shot by Fox before he was able to escape. Fox felt bad and apologized a ton, but Fives brushed it off. One bullet wound was worth it to save all the Jedi and the Republic. Or that's what Fives said. Unfortunately, Palpatine was able to escape and rejoined Dooku. However, with Padme as the new Chancellor for the Republic, we all hoped the war would turn back in our favor. 

It had terrified me that the clones I'd gotten so close to had had chips meant to kill me in their heads, but Shaak Ti was making sure that all clones had their chips removed safely. It still made me nervous sometimes thinking  about it, but Master said that we should focus on what did happen instead of what could of happened. 

"So you're going with the Bad Batch," Fives said as Rex, Kit, and Jesse joined the table. Jesse rolled his eyes and muttered something. " What's with him?", I asked Rex. " Jesse and I have worked with them before..........they aren't really fond of regular clones," Rex said. " Regular clones?," I asked curiously. " Their four member all have a mutation that makes them different. Hunter, their leader, has enhances senses. Tech is super smart, Wrecker has increased strength, and Crosshair has a really good shot," Rex explained as Jesse continued to mope. "Anyways, they aren't a fan of what they call "regs" because they've had some bad experiences with other clones," Kix said. "They liked the General though, so you should be fine. Just be ready for some incredibly off the book plans," Fives said, "I'm just happy to get to see Echo again, it's been while since he's talked with me." "He's been busy," a new voice said and we turned to see Cody walking to us.

"Commander," Fives said respectively. " Hunter just informed me that they should be here in ten minutes. The managed to get off Hoth much faster than they anticipated," Cody said, taking a seat, " I have a feeling that they're very intrigued to meet you Ahsoka. They've rarely worked with anyone that wasn't human." "Be ready for Tech to ask you a million questions 'Soka," Jesse grumbled. " Come on Jesse, they aren't that bad," Rex said, hitting his brother's shoulder. Jesse huffed and I grinned slightly. This would be interesting. 

About five minutes later, I got up to go to the hanger. To my surprise, everyone at the table got up except for Cody, who was now invested in a mountain of paperwork. Fives practically jumped out of his seat. " You guys must really be excited," I chuckled, " I don't think anything sort of an attack has gotten you to leave the mess with food still available." " Yeah yeah," Jesse huffed as we walked out. 

We were about half way to the hanger when I realized I forgot my com link in my quarters. " I'll be right there Master, I forgot something," I said, running to my quarters. " Just hurry Ahsoka!," Master called out to me and I waved him off as I rounded a corner. 

Rex's POV

We got to the hanger and I wasn't surprised to see several boxes thrown around near a familiar ship. As we approached the ship, five clones descended, removing their helmets. "General, Commander, Captain," Hunter said respectfully, " I'm sure most of you remember Crosshair, Wrecker, and Tech. And I hope you all remember Echo." "It'd be insulting if they didn't," Echo said sarcastically. Fives grinned and gave his self proclaimed twin a side hug. " Hope your mission went well gentlemen, sorry to have to spring this on you right away," General Skywalker said apologetically. " No worries sir, " Hunter said, " It's better than sitting around waiting for action to come to us." " I can agree with that," the General chuckled. " If you don't mind me asking sir, were is your padawan? The one we will be working with on this mission?," Tech stepped up and asked. " She'll be here in a second," the General assured. 

" I'm actually right here Master," Ahsoka said, coming behind us. She came to the front,  nodding politely to the Bad Batch. " A pleasure to meet you all," she said cheerfully. " Wow Commander, you've grown since I last saw you," Echo said, nearly speechless at seeing his "sister" after nearly 3 years. Ahskoa chuckled lightly. " Good to see you too," she responded softly. " So you must be Padawan Ahsoka Tano?," Tech asked, data pad already in his hands. " I am, and you must the one they call Tech," she replied with a small smile. Tech seemed slightly surprised but nodded in response. " So you know us?," Hunter asked curiously. 

" I got the run down on guys from Rex, it wasn't hard to determine you from there," she replied. " I take you're Hunter; the big guy is most likely Wrecker; and the guy with the gray hair is Crosshair?" " Yes sir," Hunter said. 'Soka nodded in acknowledgment. " Shall we be off then?," she asked. " Sure thing Commander," Hunter said. 

" Be careful Snips," Skywalker called out. " Aren't I always Master?," she teased before walking over to her starfighter. I relaxed slightly, knowing that I was being paranoid for thinking anything would happen to her. However-

" You let anything happen to her, and I will hunt you all down and rip you too shreds,"  Jesse deadpanned. " Jesse," I snapped, slapping his helmet. " You really think-," Crosshair started before Hunter slapped the back of his head too. " She'll be fine, the Commander has proven time and time again that she'd capable of handling herself," Echo said. " Exactly, now show a little faith men and get back to work," I ordered. They grumbled but wandered back to their duties. I turned to the Bad Batch one more time.

" In all seriousness though, if anything happens to her; me and Cody will be hunting you down with the 501st and the 212th along with the Wolfpack and half the Corusant guard. Ahsoka Tano is the vod'ika of the GAR and there is no one I know who wouldn't rip you a new one in her name. Assuming she didn't get to you first."
