When he got the com call from Wolffe, he was reasonably hesitant.
The last time is batchmate had randomly contacted him asking for a favor, Fox had dirt under his nails for weeks and he swore his shoulder never stopped aching.
Needless to say, he was ten times more surprised when Wolffe asked if he'd "watch their back". No other context, no name, no reason. So Fox assumed Wolffe had accidentally sent it to him, send a quick 'no' in reply than headed to get some caffeine from the mess.
Two weeks later, Fox was enjoying nice morning with tons of paperwork to be done when Stone walked in, with a very confused looked on his face. "Um, sir?," he asked hesitantly. "What?," Fox asked, rasing an eyebrow. "Commander Wolffe just dropped off a child," Stone said bluntly. Fox stared at Stone.
Stone stared at Fox.
Fox stared at Stone.
Stone stared at Fox.
Fox sighed deeply, took a long sip of caff and stood up.
"Where."
"Hello Commander, my name is Rin Malldon of the 104th Battalion," a small, ginger haired humanoid said, extending a small, twig like arm in front of Fox with a large, polite smile. Fox stared for a moment before shaking her hand hesitantly. "So....you must be Wolff'es...." "Commander? Hardly, he just calls me his 'ad'ika', which I'm not sure what it means, but I'm thinking it means idiot because he usually calls me it after I've gotten caught in an explosion, or the one time I was fighting Grevious..," the girl, Rin, trailed on.
Kriff.
KRIFF.
So this was the legendary 'pup' of the Wolfpack Fox had heard rumors of. His Vod's ad'ika and single source of gray hair.
"....but anyways, I asked him if I could meet you and he agreed to let me visit during our time on leave," Rin finished and looked up at Fox with big eyes. Kriff. Fox was screwed, Fox knew Wolffe knew Fox was screwed. Wolffe was his only brother that knew Fox's weakness: children. Particularly children with puppy dog eyes that made your heart melt.
And this young jeti was exactly that.
"Respectfully.....why exactly would you want to visit me?," he asked and immediately paled as a gleeful and mischievous grin spread across the kid's face.
"Well, I happened to hear that you.......come across a lot of gossip in the Senate. Backstabbing, cheating, liars, and all that fun stuff," she started off. "Yes....," Fox said hesitantly. "And you have a great source of......background knowledge to say on the Commanding officers of the clone army, given that you all gave from the same squad?," she asked gleefully. Fox nodded, truly fearing what this child was about to unleash.
"Well as it happens to be Commannder Fox, I have a lot of gossip about the Jedi Order. Backstabbing, cheating, liars, and certain relationships and other Code-breaking spectacles," she said, "Not to mention stories that I'm sure Wolffe would give his other eyes to never have repeated."
Oh.
Ohh.
Fox let a borderline feral grin come across his face and the realization hit.
" So you're interested in an exchange," he said, removing his helmet and taking a seat at his small desk before gesturing to the nearby small chair for Rin. Rin smiled wickedly and took a seat. "Not so much an exchange, but more of a deal. I give you my blackmail and gossip, if you give me yours," she said.
Fox laughed in pure delight, smacking his desk before extending his hand to Rin.
"You've got a deal Commander."
Later at the 104th Coruscant Barracks
" So Wolffe," Rin said innocently as the two sat alone his his bunk. Wolffe working on his armor and Rin typing something into her tablet. "What's up?," he asked, eyes not moving from scrubbing his armor.
" I hear you're the only known Clone to have kissed a Kaminoian on a dare."
