I was standing in a courtyard with people rushing around me, not paying me any attention. Behind me their were many shops, including a shop called Cafe Beignet.

I walked over to the store, and was about to get some beignets when the earth reached up and grabbed my legs.

JOIN ME, the voice said. When I said nothing, the earth started pulling me down farther.

I SAID JOIN ME, AND YOUR FRIENDS WON'T GET HURT, the voice said, but I shook my head and said no.

THINK ABOUT ALL OF THOSE PEOPLE THAT WRONGED YOU. YOU CAN FIX THAT IF YOU JUST JOIN ME.

"No!" I yelled back at the voice, and because of that, my entire body went under. Soon I couldn't feel or see anything, except for pain.

I looked down and saw a mouse nibbling on my toe, and a big face appeared in front of me. YOU WILL SUFFER FOR REFUSING MY OFFER, the voice said. YOU WILL DIE!

I felt like I couldn't breathe, and soon I couldn't. The mouse started nibbling my foot even harder, and I yelled out in pain. I looked down, and my foot was gone. Soon, my entire body was gone, eaten away by the earth and the mouse.

I woke, sweaty, and my day clothes still on, which really wrinkled them. I groaned, stretched, and walked over to the window to the right of my bed. I was used to bad dreams, but never like this one. Who was the person in the earth? I wondered. After pondering this for a moment, I gave up and I pulled open the curtain to find people playing sand volleyball, climbing the lava wall, sparring, and a lot of other stuff.

The sun wasn't fully up overhead, so I guessed it was 9 in the morning. Wow. I had slept in, at least for a school day.

I walked over to the bathroom, and studied myself in the mirror. My black hair was crazy, so I spent a couple of minutes brushing it, which included a lot of OW's and UGH's. I spent another couple of minutes trying to find something to wear, since I had been wearing my other clothes for a while now.

Luckily, I found some hanging on the side of my bed, some jean shorts and an orange t-shirt that said CAMP HALF BLOOD in big letters. After that, I used the restroom, grabbed Harpe, and went outside, heading over to the sparring course.

At the sparring course, there was Percy, Annabeth, and a big red-head girl I didn't know. When Percy saw me, he waved me over.

The only way I know about Percy is from what Will and Nico told me, and also meeting him at the Dinner Pavilion.

"Hi," I said, and Annabeth and Percy both paused their sparring to smile at me.

"What do you think of Camp?" Percy asked kindly.

"It's great. I can't wait for Capture the Flag today." Annabeth looked at me, and I could tell she was trying to figure out who my godly parent was.

"Why don't you spar with Clarisse? She's a child of Ares, and she's over there." Annabeth pointed towards a red-headed girl with a spear. "It could be a good way for you to learn how to fight better." Annabeth paused. "You probably don't know how to fight yet, do you?" I shook my head.

"Percy's limbs over here are made of Seaweed, along with his Brain, so he probably needs a rest. I can teach you how to fight a little bit." Percy protested a little bit, but then decided to sit down.

"I can help you out a little bit, once she is done attempting to teach you how to fight," He told me, and I laughed.

"I don't think Annabeth will need your help, but I'll keep your offer in mind," I said with a smile.
