"Gaea?" Percy said, his brow creased. "How's that possible? Did you know?" He aimed the last question towards me.
"No," I told him, frowning. "I knew it was a Titan, at least that was my guess, but I never thought it would be Gaea."
"Do you even know who Gaea is?" Annabeth asked me. "And why were you trying to kill Percy?!"
"I'm sorry," I said. "And isn't she the goddess of the earth that hurts and kills a lot of people? And she died only a month ago?"
"Yeah," Percy said. "So how could she have you?"
"I don't know," I acknowledged, and I started playing with my hands. "I mean, I'm thirteen so maybe she had me thirteen years ago?"
"But thirteen years ago she was asleep," Annabeth told me. "Only recently was she able to wake up even more."
"So how am I alive?" I asked, and then looked at Percy. "AndI'm really sorry for...-" I gestured to the cave- "All of this."
"I've been through worse," Percy waved it off.
"Maybe she was more awake then we knew," Annabeth mused, and then she scowled at me. "And if you even try to kill my boyfriend again, I will make sure you are the one who gets killed. Do you understand?" She sounded like an angry mother, but I nodded my head.
"I don't know what came over me. I'm sorry."
"Great, now we're done with that," Percy said, and his foot started to tap. It must mean that he has ADHD. "Should we tell the other demigods?"
"No." Annabeth shook her head. "That wouldn't go very well. Maybe when they know Neka better."
"But then they would feel like I betrayed them," I intervened.
"But if you do it now then they might get really mad," Annabeth replied.
"So both ways aren't good. So maybe we should just wait a little bit? And you can only tell the people you trust that won't judge you," decided Percy. I pondered his suggestion for a moment, as did Annabeth. I then nodded my head, and so did Annabeth.
"I'm telling Chiron though. I think he should know," Annabeth said, and she strolled out of the cave like nothing big happened.
Once Annabeth left, Rachel stepped into the cave room thing.
"I may or may not have eavesdropped," she started, and I was about to open my mouth to say look at how well this secret has gone so far, when she finished quickly: "but the blue team won a few minutes ago, so now they are looking for you. And they're right outside of the cave."
As if on cue, Will, Nico, Chiron, Annabeth, and 3 other demigods I didn't know walked into the cave. Most of them were on the blue team, and they were standing away from the red team. Demigods are very competitive. Annabeth was with 2 other demigods that had gray eyes, and they were talking in hushed tones.
"Finally, we found you," Chiron said in relief. "It's getting dark." Chiron paused. "But you guys can survive on your own out here, but I need to tell you something. Neka, Annabeth, Percy, and Nico meet me in the Big House in 15 minutes."
Nico glared at Chiron, and Chiron sighed. "Will can come along too, if he wants."
A few minutes later, I was in my room at the Big House. I changed out of my clothes and took a quick shower.
After the shower, I spent 2 minutes trying to find Chiron and where we would meet to talk, and finally I found him with Annabeth, Will, Nico, and Annabeth sitting at a... Ping Pong Table?
"Sorry, I couldn't find this place," I told them, and Chiron gave me an encouraging smile.
"That's fine. Now that we are all here, let's get down to business," Chiron said. "The question is how is Neka here and is Gaea reawakening?" Annabeth must have already told him about me.
"But we just put her to bed," complained Percy.
"Maybe Gaea was more awake then we thought, and she gave birth to me 13 years ago," I said. "That's the only thing I can think of."
"So you are saying that the gods had no idea Gaea was awake for 13 years or longer?" Nico asked, and when he said it, it sounded kind of stupid.
"Do you have any idea why I am here then?" I asked him.
Nico rolled his eyes. "How do we know you aren't working for Gaea and spying on us?"
"What would I accomplish by coming here, if I was working for Gaea, which I'm not? One girl who doesn't know how to fight takes out an entire camp of demigods who have been training for a long time."
"You could try to kill us all while we're sleeping," suggested Nico, but I shook my head.
"Still. How would I have enough time to kill all of you? And wouldn't the gods notice and do something to help you? Wouldn't they try to kill me?"
"Can you even die?" Annabeth asked, and I shrugged.
"Why wouldn't I be able to? I'm just like a demigod, except my godly parent isn't actually godly, but a titan. So yeah, probably," I answered.
"I wonder..." Annabeth started to say, and then she stopped, probably pondering her idea, whatever it is.
"But if Gaea claimed you, doesn't that mean that she is waking up again?" Will asked, and I shrugged. I didn't like not knowing the answers to these questions. I always like knowing what's going on.
"Maybe me coming here started to wake her up again, which would suck." I started tapping the ping pong table, an idea forming in my head.
"You think?" Nico said sarcastically, and I ignored him.
"Should we take you to the gods?" Chiron asked, and I shook my head.
"Who knows what they would do? They might kill me, which could put Gaea asleep, or it could make her wake up. Also, the gods probably already know I'm here, so they might be appearing here really soon." I sighed and rubbed my forehead.
"I really don't want to see the gods," Percy muttered.
"Me too," Annabeth agreed. "Also, where's Mr. D?"
"He's doing some business away from here," Chiron waved off the question. "Wait..." Chiron stood/sat up straight. "He left right before Neka got here! Maybe he felt Gaea waking, and he was sent by the gods to check it out!"
"Interesting pick," Percy muttered.
"Maybe..." Annabeth looked off in the distance, probably thinking about everything that's going on. "But how would Gaea be reawakening before Neka got here? Unless we made her die or go to sleep, whatever, wrong, it's not possible for her to be waking up again. It's not possible," Annabeth said. Chiron's face fell.
"Then where is Mr. D?" He asked. Before anybody said anything, a kid, about 10, burst through the door.
"Rachel just had a prophecy," he exclaimed.
"What is it?" Chiron asked, and was about to get up, when the boy stopped him.
"Rachel is already being taken care of in the Apollo cabin. The prophecy was odd, and it said,
""Gaea rising in the south
The earth's daughter,
dead by her mouth."
