The salty water felt like concrete as Myrrh landed on her back, hard, and sunk down into it. quickly swimming back up towards the surface, gasping for air as the waves pushed her around, trying to stay afloat in the rough sea. The sun was hot as it beat down on her, and she looked around, trying to understand where she was. It felt vaguely familiar, and she was startled at the fact she knew how to swim. Through the azure-colored waves, she spotted what seemed to be a rock fragment, emerging out of the water. Using her arms to pull herself over through the rough waves, she was nearly slammed into the ledge protruding from it and used the oncoming wave to aid herself in reaching it.

Her hands grasped the slick ledge tightly, and she pulled herself up with a grunt and rolled onto her back before sitting up. She thought she felt as though something had grasped her ankle as she had pulled herself up, but had shrugged it off believing it was seaweed, but gasped when she studied her ankle that now had a glossy handprint, with little scales that had been left by whoever had attempted to grab her. She quickly scooted back from the edge and pressed her back again the cold rock, pulling her knees closer to her. The sudden heat from the sunlight made her shiver, as she shrouded her arms around her chest and shoulders, studying around her new surroundings. The sapphire sky stretched for miles with few clouds in sight, and the ocean around her was endless. Myrrh closed her eyes and leaned her head back, sighing, her leg slowly becoming slightly numb where she had been grabbed. She did not have enough in her to care at the moment, and her eyes shot open when she felt an almost scaley hand brushing the hair from her face.

Her first instinct was to scream but fought it back as no one would hear her anyway. She studied the face of the man, well somewhat man, in front of her, trying to understand what or who they were. He had seafoam-colored skin and light hair, with a long tail that started at his waist instead of legs, that was bright with iridescent, teal-colored scales, similar to the small scales that covered most of his skin. His eyes were a gleaming amber color, and his pupils were much narrower than hers. There were fins that protruded from his ears, and his hands were webbed, fingers extending into long needle-like claws. It seemed as though he was studying her, similar to how she was with him, trying to understand what she also was. Myrrh let out a small hiss and grimaced when his thumb grazed over a cut on her cheek, she did not know she had. He drew his hand away, licking her blood from his thumb, before pressing it back onto the cut, making it ache once again. She tried to turn her head away from him, and he quickly grasped her chin to keep her from moving, one of his claws closer to her eye than she was comfortable with. She was tense with fear as she watched his face near hers, seeming to take in her scent. She was not going to close her eyes; she was too curious for that. She watched his movements, and he slowly let go of her face. She let out a breath of relief, which was quickly stifled as he tightly embraced her. Her arms were trapped at her sides, and he was too strong to try and push off. she started to feel numb, and soon yelped when she felt a sharp jab into the back of her shoulder and burning pain. She let out a painful gasp as her muscles seemed to be seizing up and she slowly gave out, her head resting on his chest as spots formed in her vision and she slowly slipped into unconsciousness.

It felt as though she had been swallowed up by darkness, floating in the middle of a vast open sea, except there was no sound. There were faint whispers, but Myrrh could not make them out no matter how hard she tried to strain her ears. she tried to call out to someone, anyone, but no sound seemed to be able to escape her throat. It seemed as though a faint light was coming from her heart, illuminating only a small space around her, but that was it. She was in nothingness, and it filled her with dread and panic. Her knees tucked up to her chest, she buried her face in her hands and felt hot tears begin to flow. The only sound she could manage to get out was sobs, that seemed to echo around her.

Her head shot up when she heard a familiar yet faint voice, and she gazed around, hoping for someone's presence. Her name slowly rung out in her ears, faintly then slowly getting strong, as did the light coming from her heart.
