Chapter Nine: Progress

-Bakugou's POV-

My back hurt so much when I went to move after waking up this morning. I could feel Kiri's arms around me so I nuzzled further into his chest, whining a bit at the small stabbing pain. Kiri rubbed the base of my head, shushing me a bit.

"Shh, I know pebble. Want me to get you anything?" he asked.

"No, I'm fine dumbass. Let me up." I said, trying to act tough.

"Whimpering isn't something 'fine' people do." he stated, though moving to let me up.

I sat up, fighting off the whimper from the pain in my back. I tried to stand, falling to the ground and heard a chuckle behind me. I looked up to find Kirishima smirking down at me, smug as ever.

"I see I did my job correctly. Would you like some help now or would you prefer to crawl everywhere?" he asked, making me blush and glare at him.

"You dick...fine help me up." I said, making him chuckle again.

"Sure thing pebble, though you like my dick. At least last night you did." he said, a cheeky smile on his face.

He walked over to me, picking me up and wrapping my legs around his waist. I huffed and pouted, crossing my arms behind him. He kissed my cheek and neck before walking out of the room and into the kitchen. I heard some chuckles behind me before Kirishima put me down on the counter in the kitchen.

"Nice of you two to join us. How was your morning?" some blonde guy asked, a smug look on his face.

"None of your business blondie!" I yelled, turning away to hide my blush.

They all chuckled, making me kinda mad. I jumped a bit when I felt Kirishima's hand on my lower back. I looked over at him to see his stupidly cute smile, making me smile a tiny bit before I scowled and looked away pouting.

"Bakugou! Wanna come play with me?" the little girl with white hair asked, running over to me.

"Eri, he's a little tired right now. Maybe-" the dumbass started.

"Hey, she asked me." I said, interrupting the idiot.

"Kat, you couldn't even stand. Plus you don't like water." Kiri stated, irritating me.

"Shut up dumbass, I'm tired of sitting around." I grumbled.

I hopped off the counter, stumbling a little, and limped off with the little girl leading the way. I could hear Kiri sigh behind me as I followed down the hall and into the main room. The little girl jumped into the water after taking her shoes off, splashing water everywhere. I slipped my shoes off and took a deep breath before slowly stepping into the water. It was cool against my skin, and calmer than a small pond. There were a few small fish that came over to my legs, circling around them as I slowly made my way deeper into the water.

-Kirishima's POV-

Katsuki limped out of the room with Eri, followed not too long by a loud splash. Nemuri came out of her room and sat next to Hizashi and Aizawa.

"I see you really have your hands full with that one." Aizawa stated, making Hizashi chuckle.

"Yup, he's only like that around people though. He's actually very calm and caring." I replied.

"He seems to be the kind to be a power bottom." Nemuri said, chuckling.

"Oh no, he's just bratty. That's all you need to know." I replied, not wanting to share a lot of details about my blonde.

"Ohhh, so he's a bottom though. Good to know." Nemuri stated.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked, a bit of a threat in my voice.

"Just something that I can use to help him surprise you with." she said, putting her hands up defensively.

"I see, we should get to work. Gotta get ready to introduce him to everyone." I stated.

-Bakuboi's POV-

I was about waist deep in the water, somehow not freaking out. Eri kept coming up to the surface with shells and stuff, her tail shimmering in the water and low light. She just went back under when she grabbed my leg and pulled me under. As I went over I could feel a small bit of panic, though I was otherwise fine under the water. Eri swam over to me with a bright smile on her face.

I followed her after she swam off, deeper into the stairwell-like area. As we went deeper the usual struggle for breathing seemed to disappear, the water was almost crystal clear as we got closer to the reef. There were tons of colors everywhere, fish and some others like Eri swimming around doing different things. It almost looked like a town rather than a reef, there were doors on some of the coral colonies.

Despite being at the bottom of the ocean it was very bright in the areas between the building-like coral. Creatures were swimming about with different objects and what looked like food. I jumped when there was a hand on my shoulder, turning to see someone who looked similar to Kirishima. The only difference was that this guy had silver hair and a shark tail, he also wasn't as built muscular as Kiri.

"Who are you? I've never seen you before." the guy said, catching me off guard.

"Tetsu! What have you been up to?" Eri asked, hugging the guy.

"Eri, do you know him?" the guy asked.

"Ya, this is Bakugou. Kirishima's mate, he got here yesterday." she said, making the guy flinch slightly.

"Oh, I apologize sir. I was unaware he was back from the surface." he said, looking almost scared.

"It's fine, dumbass." I grumbled, seeing him tense slightly.

"Don't worry Tetsu, Bakugou's always like that." Eri said, giggling.

"Is there any way I can help you two today?" he asked.

"Nah, we're just swimming around for a while. We'll let you know if we need anything." she said, him nodding in response and swimming off.

"What was that all about?" I asked her.

"Oh, Tetsu is one of the reef guards. He is in charge of making sure that intruders or threats are dealt with." she replied, swimming off away from the large groups of people.

I followed after her, looking around at the different plants and creatures. As we were swimming there was a large group of fish that came swimming by quickly.

As we got further from the reef it started to get harder to breathe. I stopped for a second getting Eri's attention. She swam back over with a concerned look on her face.

"Bakugou, what's wrong?" she asked.

"It's a little hard to breathe out here." I replied, panting a bit.

"We should probably head back then." she said, helping me up off the ground.

As I stood up I got a little dizzy, leaning slightly as we headed back to the reef. When we got closer I was starting to breathe normally. We turned a corner and I saw Kiri there talking with the Tetsu guy and a few others.

He noticed us and swam over while smiling. He was stunning to look at, which I already knew but damn. His tail was a brilliant red that glittered as the light hit it. The fin at the end of his tail looked like fabric flowing and rippling behind him with each movement.

"Hey Kat. What are you guys doing here?" he asked, kissing my cheek.

"Well we were gonna go play in the sponge fields but Bakugou was starting to have trouble breathing. So we came back." Eri responded.

"Oh, I see. Sorry Eri, I should have mentioned that he can only go so far from me when underwater." Kiri stated, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Aw, so we can't go to the sponge fields?" Eri asked, pouting and looking sad.

"Not without me, sorry Eri." he said, smiling sympathetically.

"Ok, let's go play in the cave Bakugou." she said, excitedly and dragging me back to the cave.
