Eve's p.o.v.

Once we made it to the end of the first phase, I looked around to find many of the applicants hadn't made it. As we joined the group I stopped and watched Hisoka set Leorio against a tree seeing this as my chance to get away for a bit. Quietly I walked further into the crowd of applicants until I couldn't see him and sighed in relief as I relaxed and looked around at the rest of the applicants. While I was looking I felt someone place their hand on my shoulder and I flinched thinking it was Hisoka but soon relaxed when I found it to be Gittarackur.

"You took longer than expected to get here. Did everything go well?" He asked and I gave him a confused look.

"Yes everything went fine. Why do you think I should've been here sooner when you don't even know me?" I asked and I saw his eyes widen for a second.

"You seem powerful so I figured you would've been one of the first ones to arrive. That's all." He answered simply and I could tell he was hiding something as he walked away.

Shaking off the encounter I began tuning my violin as more applicants began to arrive. A few of them looked frightened by the creatures they had seen and I grinned amused. If something as simple as that frightened them so much then they surely wouldn't last much longer. As I focused on the sound of my violin I couldn't shake the feeling of being watched so I looked around to find the source but found no one making me feel uneasy.

Taking a step forward to find a place to rest for the remaining time, I squeaked as a hand was placed over my eyes and an arm wrapped around my waist while I felt a warm breath against my ear.

"You didn't think you could get away from me that easily did you darling~" Hisoka purred in my ear and I felt a chill run down my spine at his words and how close he was.

"O-Of course not I was just looking to see who was left!" I half lied and I felt his arm around my waist tighten keeping a firm grip on me as his other hand trailed down to my chin, tilting it upwards in order to make eye contact with me.  I noticed the amusement in his eyes at my startled state and frowned realizing Gittarackur may be right about me only being a toy to him.

"Why do you treat me the way you do?"

"Pardon?~" He asked caught off guard by my question and I turned in his hold to face him.

"What am I to you? Why do you toy with me so much? It can't be just because you find me interesting." I asked and he smiled.

"Oh but it is~ You're such a fascinating and entertaining toy. I love the little expressions you make when I tease you and how easily flustered you get. True I wish to break you but that won't be for awhile~" He answered honestly and I sighed.

"If that's all I am to you then leave me alone. I have no interest in being anyone's toy nor will I ever."

"Oh?~ If that's so then why are you still here in my arms? We both know you're holding back so if it bothers you so much then why not simply let go?~" He questioned and I froze realizing he was right. With a huff I broke from his grasp easier than I expected and stormed off. I know I let him get under my skin and it annoyed me to no end.

It wasn't long after my encounter with Hisoka when Satotz explained that we would now be entering the second phase of the exam. In my irritated state I drowned out what was being said and entered the second phase along with everyone else and went to my station. There we were introduced to the second phase examiners Menchi and Buhara. I didn't listen to much of what was said still fuming about my encounter with Hisoka and groaned when I realized Hisoka had chosen the station to my right while Gittarackur was on my left. It only irritated me more as it seemed that I couldn't get away from the two of them.
